Last November I enter NaNoWriMo, for those unfamilliar with it, that stands for National Novel Writing Month, and it's a month long event held in November. The name of the game is: Write 50,000 words in 30 days.
I managed to achieve that goal, but did not manage to finish my novel. Now I'm stuck both in completing the novel, and in editing the (very) rough manuscript of what I already have.
The genre for the story I believe should be "Teen Fantasy". I just can't seem to find another genre that really fits. I did the orignal writing for NaNoWriMo in the first person (the only way I could get into the characters head!) and am now trying to change over to a more traditonal writing style. I don't know if may have screwed myself over with that little move, but I'll have see as I go along.
What I would really appreciate would be any idea or tips on how to get the rest of the story out of my head and onto paper. If anyone's truly interested, I would be willing to post sections of the story for people to go over (hobbile writing style though it is).
I just don't want my story to be horribly cliche and tacky. I understand that books about magic and fantasy are rather popular right now, but I've always had a love for the genre.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. And if you need some more information I'll glady post more.

Thank you very much!
I think there is still an event called "NaNoEdMo" in March. I've never really seriously edited my NaNoWriMo novels. All of my NaNoWriMo novels are on Lulu, and one somehow managed to find its way from Lulu to Amazon. (I started getting notices about changes to the Amazon royalties and at first I thought it was a phishing email. Fortunately, no one has printed by novels so it's a moot point.)
Editing a novel is not always easy and editing a NaNoWriMo is harder because a lot of it is ... well junk. (NaNoWriMo works on quantity over quality.) Good luck with your editing.
Beleive it or not, I have manged to get rid of a lot fo the junk (going from 51,000 words to around 43,000 in the process). I'm more looking to actually finish the book at this point, and worry about publishing later. I just want the thing done! At this point publishing isn't even on the horizon.
And I've heard of NaNoEdMo, I just got so swamped with school work (how I managed college and NaNoWriMo I'll never know) that I didn't get a chance to really sit down and edit my novel during the event.
That is so cool. Good luck
Thanks, I think I'm going to need all the luck I can get on this one.
