On day 3, we went up to St. Ignace to explore, but still got back to Mackinaw City pretty early in the afternoon. As we drove back towards our campground, I noticed a park where people were flying kites. The park was right on the water, and looked nice, so we stopped to have some fun.

There were two guys who had set kites out, then anchored them to the ground so they could fly another. They had 5 kites flying, and 2 that they were handling by hand while we were there. The kids enjoyed it, and it was nice to be somewhere relaxing for a bit while the kids ran around.

When we got back to the campground, the kids scattered, and I wanted to take a walk on the beach. I let the kids know where I'd be, but they all decided to follow me. The kids played in the sand, while I walked along the pier, and took photos and videos.

We all had a fun, relaxing evening after a semi-stressful day.

Looks like a wonderful day!
What a nice beach! I love that last pic of Gilly...definately a keeper :~)
Looks like day 3 was fun! The water looks nice and clear. I love taking walks on the beach and playing in the surf. I can never resist the urge to draw and write my name in the sand.
My kids are fascinated by kites. We love to stop and watch them when we see them- free entertainment! We got our own kite (a cheap one) and tried it out once but it was a pain. I'd rather just watch others fly theirs.
Great pictures, I like the ones in sepia~
Awesome pictures! Looks like you guys had a great time! I can't wait to go explore up north next week!
