I really had to laugh tonight. My husband was working so I put the kids to bed and gave them a warning that they were not to come downstairs unless it was an emergency. Last night they had come down at least 4 times after being put to bed and I was so fed up with it!
So, anyway, about 30 minutes after I had put them to bed and come downstairs, my oldest comes down and says "Where's Hannah?" I asked her what she meant. She said Hannah wasn't in her bed. I said "Are you sure?" "Yes, I'm sure. She came down here a while ago." huh? then I hear this little voice coming from the bathroom - "Here I am!" So... long story short, I guess my warning was serious enough that she snuck downstairs because she had to go potty and then was afraid to call for me to help her! (she still won't wipe her own butt...grr!) I asked her why she didn't call me and she said she was just waiting for me to come help her. Not sure how she thought I would do that considering I had no idea the monkey was downstairs!
Kinda scary that a 5 year old is already capable of sneaking out of her room and walking right by me without noticing it! Gonna need better locks when she's a teenager! ha!

LOL!!
Here's what you do... put a bell on your kids, so that the next time they get out, you'll know.
LOL She'd like that too... as long as it's a "stylish" bell. She's my self-proclaimed Diva! How she knew that word at 5 years old (actually early 4 yr old) I'll never know!
he he sound like she will b e a handfull,...
Will be??? already is! lol But yes, she could be a challenge - and she's drop dead gorgeous too - that beautiful red hair and smiley, spunky personality. Jesus needs to come back before she's old enough to date! ha!
That is so cute. At least the other one was worried about where she was.
lol. There are days too when my 5 year old would want to be a baby. he would want me to lie down with them till they go to bed and before I go to work too.
LOL they are sneaky
I remember those days. Once when we spent a year away from our home while my husband got another degree we rented a house with 3 bedrooms which made it possible for our daughters to have seperate rooms. They were thrilled. Every morning when I woke them up they were sleeping together in the same room! I thought it was kind of sweet.
My kids have to share a room and I know they wouldn't want it any other way....... YET! I'm sure when they are teenagers they will but if we're still living here...too bad! I had to share with my sister until she graduated and moved out ! (I am 3 yrs younger)
Most of the time I loved sharing my room with my sister. When my girls were older they had seperate rooms. I'm not sure it was a good idea.
too funny. very sneaky
That's too funny. Recently, Elliott was in bed with my husband snuggling and reading a story. Apparently my husband went to sleep before Elliott, and Elliott climbed over him and came out. He scared the heck out of me when he said "Hey mama, I'm weddy for bed!" I didn't even hear him close the door to our bedroom, and I was in the next room!
We're just really lucky that Elliott has no desire to go outside without us! He already knows how to unlock the doors, take out window screens, etc. And he's so quiet sometimes that it would be easy for him to sneak out.
I'm fortunate in that I have a 6 foot fence around my patio, so even if they got outside, they wouldn't be able to get outside the fence without figuring out WHERE my keys are, WHICH key it is, and how to work it. Then I doubt they'd be able to as it sticks alot!
My son would run into a similar problem if he went out the back door. We have a 5 ft high fence around our backyard, and most of the time the gates are locked. Unfortunately, his window faces the front of the house, though, where there is nothing. And it would be a lot easier to sneak out the front door (the back door is in our bedroom) than the back door anyway.
LOL!! Natalie used to wake up in the middle of night and watch cartoons!
LOL! So cute!
They can be very quiet when they want to be!
Oh no lol! Cute story :-)
LOL, very funny!
Sounds like she can keep you on your toes.
Oh, my son used to be able to unlock the doors, and go for a midnight ride on his tricycle, when he was 2. Used to scare the hell out of me.
That would be AWFUL! We have a 6 ft locking fence they can't get out of at least!
Wow, it could have been a scary story. Glad it was just a little sneaky girl story. Four to five years old is when they should start learning to clean themselves. Next year she will go to kindergarten and she will most certainly have to know how by then.
Nope...I homeschool. But she did it today by herself! Whoo hoo! Not too bad for the kid I had to FORCE to potty train at 4 years old! Strong willed child!
Cute story. Kids can be quite sneaky, can't they?
LOL might want to put a bell on her :-)
Kind of awe inspiring that your child thinks you are psychic.
Wouldn't want to have to be potty training a 5 year old though.
LOL
you got your hands full with her
