Foreign intervention has brought nothing but misery to Iran. In fact, carrying a picture of Mossadeq these days mean two things: We want democracy" and "No foreign intervention".
Who is Mossadeq? Let's ask Governor Sarah Palin.
Mossadeq was the first democratically elected Iranian PM. We, the United States, overthrew him because he did not suit us. He nationalized Iran's oil industry. Oil, Oil, Oil. Isn't it always about oil?
So in 1953, we overthrew a legitimate government and replaced it with a corrupt dictator thereby sowed the seeds for the Islamic revolution 26 years later, in 1979.
Now it's oil and religion. Saddam feels threaten by the Shiite next door and decides to do something about it. We arm him to the teeth and cheer him up to take down the ayotollas.
The people who came in an crushed a democracy are now supposed to bring it back. We are supposed to support Mousavi, the guy who pledges allegiance to Ayotollah Khomeini. Khomeini? Ask Sarah Palin!
Let's ask these GOP senators and their supporting gawkers to take a chill pill and dooze off. These folks are either stupid or ignorant. Let's hope it's the latter.

GOP= Shit for Brains.
I would ask that our government not intervene in Iran, or any where else for that matter, but simply support the populace yearning for freedom. We can state our support for the people without getting involved in what should be an internal matter for Iran. Good post Jared.
Agreed. But support without being involved is a very thin line.
I am not ignorant of history and you are absolutely right. In matters of Iran it is best that history not repeat itself...we should stay out of it completely.
Jared,
They may have knowledge of that history and simply not have learned from it. We are fortunate the decision is not theirs, for it it were I am afraid history would repeat itself.
A lot of people could stand to learn more about Iran. It might make us think more before speaking.
Agree with all you.
I certainly don't see what they want to achieve with "strong" denunciations. We just went through 8 years of name calling Iran and they are closer to getting nuclear weapons. Unless we are prepared to step in and do something about it, we should stay put. Words don't move these Mullahs.
Tell it, but their is no one blinder than one who refuses to see.
