I received this message today from the principal at Christopher's school.....there was more information for me, but I'm not passing it on.
Javier Mejia, one of our freshmen last year, was killed in a auto accident on Saturday. He was traveling with his family when the SUV they were in flipped killing Javier and his grandmother. Javier's mother was hurt in the accident and is still hospitalized at this time. She is expected to leave the hospital tonight or tomorrow morning.
Javier was an excellent student and a spiritual young man. He was a student in my upper level Bible class, so I can tell you with confidence that he is with our Lord Jesus Christ. Most of the elementary students at the school knew Javier. He was one of the students chosen to teach Bible classes to the younger children.
It does appear the funeral will be on Friday with the viewing on Thursday. The Mejia family was members St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Kennesaw and I am awaiting information from them about the funeral arrangements.
Please keep the family and friends in your prayers. This is hard on the kids, as Christopher's school goes from K-12, and these kids all know each other. Christopher was friends with Javier, and he's taking it a little hard. Since we are still in Minnesota, he won't make the memorial service or the get together Friday.

There is something so very tragic at the death of a young person.

So sorry to hear this. I also found out this week that a friend from Math class (boy we had a good time last semester) was killed in an auto accident along with his gf. Such tragedy at such young ages.

This last soccer season I was fortunate enough to be his Assistant Coach on the Crown Soccer Team. He was certainly one of our best athletes and Team Leaders. I cried when I heard of this tragic loss. My family is praying for Javier and his family, who I know to be wonderful people. I can’t seem to stop crying. I hoping this note will help me and his family.

I just saw this Janet. I am so sorry to hear this. How sad. It sounds like he was a great Christian young man. I know he got his wings. I will keep the his mother & family and yours in my thoughts and prayers.
