This morning Perez Hilton claimed he was roughed up by Will.I.am of the Black Eyed Pea's bodyguarda. Following the MuchMusic awards the two parties attended this weekend, Fergie approached the Queen of All Media to ask him why he was speaking badly to her and her bandmates on his website. Perez admitted he didn't like the Black Eyed Peas' album. Fergie, who was offended, went to her bandmate Will.I.am to tell him the story. Then, the drama followed…
Will.I.am and Perez Hilton had words with each other. Perez claims he was attacked by the rapper and his bodyguards. Did he call the police to report the incident? No, but he did decide to Twitter it for the world to see. His tweets were as follows:
I was assaulted by Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas and his security guards. I am bleeding. Please, I need to file a police report. No joke.
Still waiting for the police. The bleeding has stopped. I need to document this. Please, can the police come to the SoHo Met Hotel.
I spoke to my lawyer. I really need to talk to the authorities. Please come to the SoHo Met Hotel. Have called the police. Need them here.
The Toronto police are here now. Thank you. Please stop calling them.
I won't be talking about this any further. It is in the hands of the authorities.
In response, Will.I.am created a Twitter account of his own to set the record straight. One of his tweets leads to this video that explains his version of the events. Perez in turn posted this video this morning.
TOO MUCH DRAMA.
The Black Eyed Peas need to accept the fact that not everyone will like their music and they need to understand getting blasted by the media comes with the territory of being a famous musician. As hard as it is for them to believe, the band has benefited from the previous press they've gotten on PerezHilton.com. Whether Perez Hilton says he does or does not like their music, as long as he mentions them on his website, he's giving them free publicity to help their album sales.
I can't completely take the side of the Queen of All Media though. The big question running through my head is why did Perez Hilton have to Tweet this mess about the assault? It comes off as though he's craving the attention; he had to know this would become a major news story. He should have reported it to the police and left it at that. Could this indicate his side of the story is not entirely true? Who knows, maybe it wasn't Will.I.am's people who did this, but instead a random fan who was angry.
Either way, both parties are making a mistake by posting their testimony on the internet, just eight hours or so all this happened. Perez Hilton and Black Eyed Peas, next time consult with a lawyer before you start talking!!!
Whose version of events do you believe? Perez Hilton or Black Eyed Peas? Take the poll below:

I think it was wrong for them to assault Perez unless Perez tried to assault them first. I agree, they need to develop thicker skin. And, to tell you the truth, this can be a call for attention on both sides. Ever since this happened, the Black Eye Peas have been in the forefront of the celebrity news.
