On Day 26 (June 14, 2009) of our All the Ballparks Road Trip we started the day by driving to the Negro Leagues Museum in Kansas City, Missouri. We got there a little before 9am because when I made the schedule for the trip back in March I thought I saw the hours were 9am to 6pm Tuesday through Sunday. It turned out they were not open until 12pm on Sundays, though. We ended up just taking some outside shots in the morning and coming back later to see the museum.
The front of the building has an interesting display of baseball and jazz players, as the building is not only the home to the Negro Leagues Museum, but also the American Jazz Museum.

Dad took a few photos of me in front of the museum. It is my disappointed to not go into the museum look.

Back behind the museum we found an interesting sculpture that mixes some jazz muscians and baseball players.

After taking some outside photos of the museum we drove around the area a little and found some interesting old buildings. We then headed to a Panera Bread to hang out and use the Internet before heading to the afternoon Kansas City Royals ball game.

After the Kansas City Royals game we came back to the Negro Leagues Museum and actually went inside and saw it. No photography is allowed inside, so we just have this one in front of the inside entrance, which was taken by one of the staff. The museum was worth coming back to see. Read by blog entry about visiting it here.

In the gift shop my brother got a mini bat with the Negro Leagues Museum logo for his collection and I got a baseball with the logo on it for my collection.
