Yesterday I was on my way to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to see a FREE Pre-Raphelite show (free for one day, otherwise it costs 8 bucks to see).
Along the way I saw this.
What kind of glue do they use ??? Would driving it around break it all apart with vibrations and bumps? And look, no grime !!! - Wouldn't a car wash blast this all to hell?

Wooo-hooo !!!
That's a pretty neat looking car
Let's hope the owner's not diabetic!
Kidding. Nice post.
Wouldn't that screw up your aerodynamics?
FAST - On the highway - Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh -
Wow!
What the flip is that?!?!?! Hahahahahaha!!!
And I thought my "Easter Egg" car was bad (give me a break, I was 17)
I'm sure it had genuine charm
talk about added weight! I would feel stupid driving around with a car like that
Wow!!! Can you even imagine how much time that took? Cool - thanks for sharing!
Cool, Peter. I have some "Art car" pictures on here that I took at a local festival a couple years ago. This one is pretty neat.
What a wonderful, creative and funny looking piece of art that is. My fisrt thought was - what a mess if a fneder bender ever happened.
I'll bet it get lost of attention!
broken dishes !!!
Was this part of the "50's Car" thing they're doing right now? I noticed a lot of old classic cars passing through on their way downtown late last week. I would hope that they transport this one in an enclosed trailer, because the the stuff flying off of it at highway speeds (even when towed or open-trailered) could be truly hazardous!
That is amazing. I'm not sure it''s safe though.
What a fascinating hobby this car must be. I think you'd have to wash it very carefully with a watering can... I'm so glad you had your camera as you passed by!
That is one amazing car. I never see cool stuff like that around here! I guess we're just not "artsy" enough. We did have a WV Bug covered in carpet that belonged to a carpet store, but this is waaaaay better. I'd like to know what glue they used, too.
Between the drag and the weight, I wonder what kind of gas mileage you'd get? Makes me want to cover my old clunker with pieces of ceramic tile.
You spotted an Art Car. There are a few here. I've met a few of the artists and they debate about using epoxy or liquid nail to attach stuff. It sort of seems to come down to whatever makes stuff stick.
As one of the guys pointed out to me, as soon as you buy a car, it starts depreciating in value, so why not get the most fun out of it? He's got plastic toys glued all over his car.
That's pretty neat. My dad did something like this once. He started collecting dealership emblems and would epoxy them to an old car he had. Dealership from around the country would send him one, it was pretty cool. Sadly the car's engine tanked and that was the end of that. I think he sold it to someone though I don't know for how much.
Well, now! That's pretty dang cool!
now that's cool!
Gives a whole new meaning to "paint job." Wonder if here's a Maaco shop for dishes...maybe Williams-Sonoma could take it one...their profits are way down. Give them something to do with their left-over stock. Then, if you become homeless and have to live in your car, you'll have all the dishes and such you need...
I didn't get enough sleep, did I?
take it on...
ha ha
Wow, that is a really cool car! I guess they must be really careful with it!
wow! what a car lol
Moving art! I wonder what happens if a piece flies off the car while it is moving?
A,azomgcar sure to get stares, but I relly don't likethe lookmyself.
I like the old hippie Volkswagens with painted art and sayings. In New York I saw a black hearse that had amazing paintings of lions very tastefully done.
I gotta get a grip or be called out for damage to the language. Sorry.
not only is is a cool peice of artwork on wheels~the individual who put so much effort into must have astronomical patience and a love for the xotic` =D
luv it`
That's cool. I wonder if they drive it around or if it's more of a large decoration now.
Wow, that's incredible!
I am so loving this car! It is amazing! So glad you had your camera with you and were able to get these amazing shots of it!
I think they put all that on there, so they DON'T HAVE TO go to the car wash.
Would be fun to see it attacked by a pressure washer though.
That is too much! I love it! (I wouldn't drive it, but I love it)
Wow! That's really funky! I almost want to do something like that to my car, but I don't have that much creativity. At most I'd put an antenna ball on my antenna. ;)
i want one
Whoa! I have seen some strange cars before, but that one really takes the cake.
I wonder how the mileage is! LOL! Cool car though!
Don't think I would want to wash and wax that car. LOL!
I guess you have never seen my car.
Oh my.
Is this really your car PJS? ha ha ha
LOL, looks like they went to a flea market and just stuck everything they bought to their car.
Here in Minnesota we have, every year, an Art Car fair. Surely this is one of the entries. I love living in Minnesota even if the winters are freezing, the summers are terribly hot and humid and there is no Spring or Fall. The Art Cars are cool too. This was a great short article. Thanks.
they didn't know what to do with all their yard sale left-overs,lol..and wanted to keep them and had no space!
Love it!!
Wow, a moving piece of art!!!
a strong epoxy!
The artist must've had fun putting that together.
That's completely bizarre and totally awesome! LOL
