We are thinking about making a whole bunch of homemade tv dinners that are fairly healthy, but can be whipped out of the freezer and microwaved without issue. Does anyone have
* Ideas?

We are particularly wondering about freezing say...certain dishes, desserts, etc.....any help is greatly appreciated!

I've posted tons of recipes, in the past, on a number of the recipe sites here at Gather. But, I've never "made" t.v. dinners before!
This is not my cup of tea. hehe
Grill burgers dogs sausage steak chicken that s me
i make hamburger helper and freeze it then u just thaw and heat up. very convienent.
i would suggest that you get some very sturdy plastic sectioned trays look for them at flea markets or where ever picnic supplies are sold and then invest in a vaccume seal machine this will preserve the food longer walmart sells them then there is no end to what you can do what i do is as i make supper i use the left overs from the meal we ate i put it on one of those plates and vacume seal it shut the just labe it and ta da yo have homade tv dinner
in my pre-diet days, I used to make extra butter chicken and rice and freeze it in single serving plastic bowls with lids - it turns out very well.
Oh boy, this is a tough one. I can think of a lot of "tv dinner" type meals but not necessarily for the microwave.
Hmmm.... I've been stumped...
wait! What about soups? Ones that have meat, tons of veg or beans and a tomato base. They freeze well and microwaving would be a cinch.
Beef stew?
Mexican pork or beef? Just heat and roll in a tortilla with some cheese?
BBQ pork or beef? Just heat and serve on a roll?
I used to use the tv trays and filled them with leftovers of all kinds. I then covered them with saran wrap and foil and froze. My husband mostly took them for work for lunch.
We cook a whole turkey at a time and portion it out in 4-5 oz pkgs in baggies then I just take some frozen peas or other frozen veggy in a baggie and a salad in a bigger baggie to work. Whenever we do vegetable soup or chili I freeze several good size servings in the Glad type freezer - to - microwave containers and can grab one of those with a salad too. I also make chicken and rice in a large quantity and freeze it in the same type container. Spaghetti works well too. It is difficult to do a "complete" frozen TV type dinner because of the variation in cooking times of frozen foods.....
If I cooked a lot at the same time, I could make up some TV dinners...using the TV dinner tray I wash and save after I have those gacky dollar Banquet TV dinners I buy. Most of them would have rice and some sort of cheap meat, like chicken, along with a vegetable...or I'd make some pasta, add the sauce and throw a couple meatballs in.
