Today we decided to go on a picnic for Father's Day. I was a little upset because today I thought would be just us and it wasn't. Eric had invited some neighbors who he felt sorry for. They don't have kids so he invited them to tag along. Long story regarding them. I have to say I was really proud of myself to get out and get going. My last few days hasn't been the best on emotions or even wanting anyone else around.
We got there about noon and decided we had better eat first. I made chicken, hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and we had chips

Daddy and James rode on a glider/swing type thing. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more. Notice the mud hole under them?

Well, all went fine and we continued to play until James decided to go down a big slide. That was fine he done it a number of times. I first stood behind the slide till he got up at the top and sat down. Went to go around to catch him at the bottom but it was to late James had started to go down the slide on his own. I got half way around and noticed a big mud hole.

The funniest part was the look he gave me when he got part way down and noticed it as well. He knew there was no stopping himself it was a very fast slide. James landed in it flat on his back. I yelled for Eric and everyone came running over. We was all laughing so hard we couldn't stop. Well, all was laughing but James. He got mad at daddy for laughing he started to walk off and say he was leaving. lol Daddy caught him calmed him down and brought him to me. I took his clothes off put a clean pull up on him. This was one of all days I didn't even think to bring spare clothes.

Notice what his shirt says? Well he had to call and tell mama about his experience when we got home and that daddy laughed at him. I am really surprised he didn't ask for papa. This shirt just fits him and papa. He had to tell Aunt Mimi too. Like they was going to do something to daddy.

Well, after all this Eric and Paul loaded the car up while I was taking James' clothes off him so he didn't ruin the car or car seat.
Then daddy came and got him to load him in the car and off to home we went.

I hope all you fathers had a Happy Father's Day.

Happy Fathers Day Eric
Thanks for sharing Renee, my husband had a alright fathers day, we received a call this morning that his mother was in the ER for high blood pressure. She was admitted for an over night stay so they can observe her but overall she's doing pretty good and my husband is home resting.
I am sorry for his mom I am glad she is doing better though.
poor little guy! it is kinda funny though. I bet it helped your mood some! Glad to hear you got out and enjoyed some sun!
to bad you had to have tag alongs, but your hubby was just thinking of others, can't blame him. I would probably be mad too, but.......

That is one of those stories you need to tell every year on Father's Day.
Here I am with “Helping Hands!”
Don't you hate when you forget to bring extra clothes?
Yes I do, and when you forget is when you normally need them most.
