I use facebook constantly and know of no way to earn giftcards. I have a twitter but hardly use it.

I don't really know of any way you can earn gift cards via Facebook.  However, if you belong to things like Swagbucks, you can gets early heads up on special codes and get more bucks faster.

I think I signed up to Twitter one day, but i really haven't checked in there. Facebook is a big one for me, because most of my family is on Facebook.

I do not do twitter... I think I'm way too old for that stuff.  I really don't like FaceBook either but I've reconnected with classmates from highschool so I stay in touch

I think Twitter and Facebook are two completely different animals. I am unaware of any direct way that you can earn gift cards on either service. However, Twitter is very useful for staying on top of promotions, contests and events on some of your favorite sites...like Gather. Therefore, by staying informed, you have more opportunity to earn.

I agree with the majority on this.  I have never heard of earning g/c's on either domain.  I belong to both and frequently use them; as well as MySpace.

I have been active on Twitter for a few months, and am relatively new on Facebook.  I know more about Twitter.  I like Twitter because it is a one-page format.  You dont have to skip from Profile to Home and Inbox and such to find things.  At Twitter, everything comes to your one front page.  At Twitter, you get an abbreivated mention of the content, so you can tell in only 140 characters (max.) what that comment or link is about.

I do not frequent Twitter because I care to know what my neighbor is doing, or what my old college room mate is up to.  I connect at Twitter because it allows me to follow voices of people who interest me:  Anderson Cooper, Jane Fonda, Stephen Colbert, Barack Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Ryan Seacrest, etc.  By following CNN, the White House, etc. on Twitter, I can keep abreast of immediate happenings all around the world as well as the musings of people (Elizabeth Taylor) who just interest me.  Furthermore, by inserting a "#" beside a key word, Twitter will lead you to all the posts which include that word.  So, should I say "I have an interest in baking #bread", every person who enters #bread in the search box will see my post plus all the others that contain the word "bread".

I can comment on the advantages of FaceBook after a month or so of using it, but right now I'm a novice there.

I use both at the same time with a program called Tweetdeck. I can see updates from both places in one program and that makes it easier.

I haven't gotten GC's from facebook, but a lot of coupons for products and such. Just a week or so ago, I got a free panty from Victorias Secret. My be no big deal to some, but I was excited!
