No, I'm not talking about a war.
I'm talking about football, or as it's known in America, soccer.
North Korea has recently qualified for the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa. The United States team is also on its way to qualify for the most popular tournament in the world.
It is very possible that North Korea and America could end up playing in the same group and facing each other on the soccer field. Wouldn't that be great?! The match would be much more than just a game of soccer.
Barack Obama and Kim Jong-il could even end up sitting in the same VIP room, watching the game together?!
Some of the previous "grudge" World Cup matches, according to the British Independent, were West Germany vs East Germany (1974), Poland vs USSR (1982), and United States vs Iran (1992).
Despite the "issues" between the countries, the players had no problems playing against each other.
Let's hope that's the case next year too...

Politics do not belong in sports. Unfortunately even the Olympics which is supposed to be armature competition is used heavily for political reasons.
Knowing Kim he might say if we lose I will nuke Japan :-)
I only watch soccer when our national team plays. So I would definitly be watching out for this one.
I think you're onto something with this one. Instead of using, or threatening to use any sort of weapons, why don't these opposing countries just play football? A lot of lives would be saved that way.
I will wait and get the DVD
