Standing in a long line at a check out counter the other day I was eavesdropping on the conversation of two young moms in line in front of me. They were discussing life in general but the thing that caught my attention was the fact that they were listing their blessings in the conversation. Some of their blessings were simple. They were thankful that their husbands had jobs and that their children were healthy and fed and clothed. They were thankful that they could still take a short vacation this summer even if the price of gas is high. They continued to list their blessings mixing them in with their conversation and I was impressed that they recognized and acknowledged them in their everyday lives and conversations.
On the way home I started to think about my blessings. They are so many but I decided to list a few of them today and hope to remember to thank God for all of them everyday.
Today I am thankful and grateful for,
- good health and feeling rested even though my sleep patterns have changed with age
- my new car that was recently given to me with full paid up insurance
- air conditioning in my home on this very hot summer day
- food in my pantry and refrigerator
- my blooming flower beds that are putting on a beautiful show for all to see
- hope in my heart that all my friends are being blessed too and that includes my gather friends
- and I'm always always thankful and grateful that I live in the U.S.A.

It's never a bad thing to focus on our blessings. Not only does it make us more aware of other blessings, but I believe it draws more good to us. Being thankful for the good things in life is not only good for us (good mental hygiene) but it helps affect others around us in a positive way.
It's the only way I make it through the day sometimes. Like when I am overwhelmed with stress. Or just to remind myself how lucky I really am. Count my blessings~
Good vibrations being sent into the universe to create that reality for everyone
... what a great reminder ...

You are indeed blessed, Lee!
What an uplifting post! Thanks, Lee. I like to focus my gratitude on things that can't be lost or taken away - music, my sense of humor, memories, love, dreams, experience.
That is alot of stuff to be thankful for. I do think people should reflect every now and again on what we do have to be thankful for. This post is a great reminder of that.
" count your blessings name them one by one
count your blessings see what God has done
count your blessings name them one by one
and will surprise you what the Lord has done
count your blessings see what God has done"
I thank God everyday for His grace.
Thanks Lee
