Stars softly shine

And stray behind

The sun-split night.

Say summer, why

The sand-shade sighs

Against the sea’s

Surrender.

 

Say summer, sell

The scented shell

The swelling tide

The song to tell

Of sea-bird’s sight

And swallow’s slight

And slippage; sigh

So tender.

 

Say summer, shall

I stay for you

Or stray for you

Be safe for you?

I’ll say for you

Sweet sun, sweet shine

Stay mine until

September.
