Drake Well Museum ~ Titusville,PA

One of my families favorite places to visit as a child was the Drake Well Museum. It is where Edwin Drake drilled the first successful oil well. This was done is 1859 ~ Drake Well Museum shares the story about the beginning of the modern oil industry. You will see exhibits, historic buildings, operating machinery and they show some great videos that tell the story.
There is a ton to do while visiting the museum ~ The Oil Creek State Park is right there and there is a great bike trail that I have biked many times, a really nice picnic area, there are historic building you can go though, machinery that works and it is neat to watch, tours, videos, shop in the store at the museum, there is fishing and canoeing or just walking along the Oil Creek. And my favorite ~ take a ride on the on the Railroad that goes from Oil Creek to Titusville. It is a great/relax train ride.
After writing this I decided to go to the Drake Well site and get you pictures so you can see some of the buildings
~
These two were built back in the 1800s and the third one
is
a rebuild.
After remember how much fun I used to have here, I thing I will take my son and let him experince the fun. I know he will love the train ride!!

Titusville, where in PA is that? I'm about 25 miles West of Philadelphia. I wouldn't mind taking a day trip there if it's not too far.
Sounds really neat.
sounds really cool! I'd love to see it

IF I am ever in that area this looks like it would be a fun place to take the family
It is a great place and there are so many other awesome places to take the family in this area and I am excited to share them all on here!! If you are ever in the area you will have to stay here.
I am going to have to take my son there and take pictures because there is so much more to do and see. It is a wonderful place to visit. I know I have only shared a tiny bit about a great place!
Sounds like a good idea. Some day he'll really appreciate going where you went as a child.
