I can check my credit report without it hurting my credit, right? As opposed to when a lender checks my credit?
Do you know of a good source for getting your credit report? Yes, I've seen the "freecreditreport.com" commercials and can single most of their jingles word for word, but the "offer applies to terms of enrollment" and other fine print leads me to believe it's not really a free credit report.

that is who my attorney gave to me
really? Well, that isn't right, they are all over the tv saying that, and that is where I was going to tell you to go
Sometimes it seems like everything is a scam doesnt it? It seems that way to me, I was checking on gov't grants for businesses and you had to send in a couple of 100.00 dollars just to get the information, with no guarantee of getting any grants....
I wonder if your bank has something that could help you out? I belong to a credit union, and I can get a free credit report once a year, or once every two years... maybe that could help you.. good luck
You have to "enroll" in all those programs in order to get your free credit report. You enroll, give them your info and credit card info... then you get your "free" creidt report. then it's up to you to cancel that membership by the end of 30 days in order for them not to charge your credit card!
Nothing in life comes for free.
One of my friends didn't read the fine print for FreeCreditReport, and got charged quite a bit by them because of it. So yeah, I'd be wary!
go to the government-approved site...you can get it once a year...from all 3 reporting agencies...IT IS NOT the freecreditreport.com thing...
let me check and get back
http://www.ftc.gov/freereports
go read the info there...it explains it
fre credit report dot com tell your friends your dad your mom. hehe
I go to www.annualcreditreport.com and you don't have to sign up for any free trials or anything. You just get your report, but you have to register at each of the three sites, if you want all three reports. Every year you can get one free report. Any more than one and you have to pay. They will off trials of this and that but you can decline. These credit reports are truely free.
This is the ONLY one I know of that doesn't have any catches at all.
I have no idea where you can get it for free.
I'm glad Ellie knows.
https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp is FREE
Ellie is right. Use the government one. You can get all three reports free - if... I can't get them free because they're confused about my name. I've been married for 4+ years but still use my maiden name. But my hubby's insurance has me listed with his last name. So it looks like I have 2 names. So I have to write to them. But if you're "normal" you can request all 3 via the internet for free.
annual credit report may have been where I went and I got reports from 3 different places free
