I don't know, where did you last see 'em ? ? ?

I thought you were keeping an eye on them. You know, I did it last time.....

well, the last time I seen them, they were over there in the corner

and so they kept looking, not knowing exactly what happened to their minds....but they knew if they kept looking they just might get lucky and find them........

I watch The Glen Beck Show every morning at 1 am cst.....
he read this letter from a 53 year old Arizona grandmother yesterday....
I was jumping up and down and yelling and screaming....jeez, I reminded me of me at a Nebraska Cornhusker footbal game....
I shared it on my Facebook page(RandeeNoOne) early this morning, and now I want your input....
here's her letter------
GLENN BECK:
I got a letter from a woman in Arizona.
She writes an open letter to our nation's leadership:
I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?
Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:
One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.
Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.
Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.
Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.
Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!
Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.
Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.
Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why -- what do you have against shareholders making a profit?
Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.
Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band-Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.
Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try -- please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.
Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.
Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.
I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.
From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.
We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.
Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.
got any ? ? ?

you know how much I love politics, dear friend
I guess the only reply I can say is from Buggs Bunny,, Always looking for the good carrotts,,,
HE HE HE
at least Bugs Bunny is a trustable soul.......
hi Stephanie............
that he does,,
good afternoon,,
now to go find those 7 darn SeaMonkeys.........
I know they have to still be here somewhere......
mwuahahaha
I wonder if anyone else can see this ? ? ?
Randee, I was interested up until it got political. LOL
I know, you don't like politco play..........
did you read the letter ? ? ?
Honestly, no. LOL
I'm trying to save time. I've got to get ready to go to physical therapy soon.
Well, Glenn Beck's mind has been gone since his drinking days.
like the IG that was fired this week for ???
investigating Kevin johnson from San Francisco.......
oh no,,,,,Barrack said he was not of "right" mind...that's right.........
and the reason for my intro to this post.....hahaha.......
if we don't agree, there must be something wrong with us...
right???
Again, with the talking points and fear-mongering.
Never seen (or heard) Glenn Beck. I've given up on 'news' and information programs. One of the factors for me was when 'they' started reading 'comments from our listeners.' They're NEWS and INFORMATION programs, with some kind of CLOUT. I expected 'learned opinions' from people who actually KNOW something on the subject. I mean the producer COULD pick up the PHONE and get guests, you know, talk with people you and I don't have normally have access to.
IF I want to hear the OPINION of people who don't KNOW much about the SUBJECT at hand, I'll sign onto Gather...
This 'letter,' by the way, is all over the Internet and more likely the work of a 'think tank' than a 'woman in Arizona.' I've heard all these talking points before for many years now.
Let's, just for a moment, have a look at 'redistribution of wealth,' also known as taxation.
(The argument CAN be made that taxation as it is, is backwards, the bulk of taxes taken on 'wages,' the back of the working man. That's income. Wealth is what someone already has. I've seen no government proposal anywhere at any time suggesting we take anyone's 'wealth.' Taxing the INCOME from existing wealth is taxing income, not taking wealth)
If we tax people and redistribute the wealth to other people, paying for their college, for example, we create a population who will, generally speaking, make more money, thus pay more taxes back into the system. I think, in general, this is a good investment in the future of America.
'Redistribution of wealth' and 'investing in our children' in this case means the exact same thing.
The idea we shouldn't, as a society, 'invest' in our children, springs from the idea of class, keeping the poor, poor, somehow thinking if we were all 'educated' there'd be no one to make the hamburgers or stock the grocery store shelves.
I have pay-as-you-go healthcare, which means I don't go to the doctor much. I've had a toothache on and off for about 14 months now. We're trying to save a little money so I can get to a dentist. I have problems with (I think) my sciatic nerve making it painful to walk at times and I'd love to see a quack. I do not own a motor vehicle - can't effort the registration and insurance fees. I have two years of college and I'm a Vietnam Era veteran. I'm a grocery clerk for a major supermarket chain. My base pay is just under $14,000 a year.
I can understand how this 'woman' who wrote this 'letter to Beck' is disillusioned with 'her America.'
I'm not disillusioned. This is pretty much what I expected from us, having lived below the poverty line all my life.
good points Karl.........
taxing the "wealthy ? ? ?
that would be like biting the hand that feed them wouldn't it ? ? ?
it is just easier to tax income.....
I have lived under the poverty level all of my adult life....and I too use the self pay method of healthcare......one thing I know is I get charged a lot less for services than if I had insurance.....
and I don't really believe that all the Republicans are the rich or wealthy......here in Nebraska, that seems to be more descriptive of a Democrat......
Chris Rock expains the difference between being wealthy and rich the best I've heard.......
Shaq is rich......
the person who pays his salary is wealthy......
Wealth is what you have. No one EVER in government past or present has EVER proposed TAKING property or WEALTH from ANY Americans (exceptions: convicted drug dealers and profits from illegal enterprises).
Here's what the argument's about:
Tax on wages.
Tax on capital gains
People who earn a paycheck get taxed on their wages.
People who invest, like in properties or stocks, their WEALTH, the money they have, earns 'interest.' That interest is then taxed as 'capital gains' income.
The anti-tax the wealthy people argue capital gains tax is a tax on wealth and the wealthy.
The economic argument is this:
Let poor people keep more of their money, they buy food, necessities, which doesn't do much to 'fuel the economy.'
Let the well off people keep more of their money, they buy cars, boats, fancy meals and take trips, as you say, the 'hand that feeds us.'
Also known as voodoo economics or trickle down.
I always thought that if they would have given even a small percentage of all of this stimulus money they are throwing around to the people, alot of this would not be happening.
people would have kept up their house payments, maybe paid down on their credit card debt......bought goods......
you know,...really stimulate the economy......but that is from someone who dropped out of college because of feeling like he was being brainwashed rather than taught anything of true substance Karl......
and like I said above......the wealthy are the one's who pay all the rich people's salaries......without them ???
America would die......yeah right........it's funny how these wealthy families, almost all, have ties to the DNC though.......
I think she may be real, and she's one very surprised lady. She's been all over our local channels and papers. Could be the lack of water, ya think?
I think, Randee, people are motivated by their own self-interest.
I know I am.
To me, I don't see much difference between Democrats and Republicans. They want the power. When in power, they want to keep the power. As they throw shit at each other and crawl to the top, hopefully, they'll do some good on the way, if my accident if nothing else.
Now, the opponents of the Dems and Obama are making the same mistake the opponents of Bush and Reps made. Instead of good, solid arguments with facts and reason, we get fear-mongering with hyperbole, demonizing.
It all distracts from what we really should be talking about. I repeat: I gave up on the news, information programs and talking heads.
Great, Ruth, another "Joe the Plumber."
I really consider myself a conservative rather than a Republican Karl......the party has gone a little too far to the left for me in some instances......
I could have been one of those brain roomers...........but "NO" is still in my vocabulary and I use it frequently.......
thanks Ruth....
I seen interviews with the lady who wrote this letter...I think it's all over the internet, because us people who are going crazy are getting a little fed up with bills being signed without a single soul reading them..... and it seems everything is an emergency.....
I've never been a Dem or a Rep.
1976---registered as a Democrat.......
after 3 years of college......and recognizing an agenda being started up......changed over to Republicans....was a member of the Young Republicans in fact.........
I didn't really 'go' to college. I took some classes in my spare time at a community college -- 62 credit hours when I was in my 30's. I didn't notice any 'agenda,' though I had a great time, 3.9 average.
I think we should go to a 100% consumer tax -- a national sales tax on non-essential items. It's fairer, everyone pays the same thing. Those who consume the most, pay the most, however, it's a choice to consume or not.
Not to mention Americans will save billions out front not paying to have the taxes done each year.
I believe in small government. We should, collectively, do only what we can't do individually.
Term limits. Congress, Senate and House, should be limited to six year terms, period, with no repeats. Our founders never envisioned a professional class of politicians for obvious reasons: power corrupts.
Healthcare. John Kerry said, during his run, he wanted to see every American have the same access to healthcare he has as a Senator.
Well, John, we all do, if we have the $3,000 to $5,000 a month to pay for it, like the taxpayer pays for Congress.
I find that ironic, we pay for health insurance for a guy who has more money than God.
100% consumer tax? Oh no, I feel like a shopacohic right now, it's scare me. Btw, if that happened, then the wealthies would just shopping in the free tax countries or airports free tax, anywhere to avoid tax. For them paying people to find the loophole is cheaper than paying the tax. Hmm, do you think buying politician would get taxed too?
I believe in a small federal government too Karl....and in the Constitution too...........
that is the ultimate in irony Karl.........we pay for theirs, but if we want the same we have to pay for ours too,,,,,,but I am on self pay......I go to the doctor when I need too...which luckily isn't very much....and on average I have paid $200/year for healthcare and that includes when we were raising 2 kids too......
now they want to tax and tax and tax to pay for all of that ridiculous spending their doing....on their pet projects and programs....
I'm curious though......for 30 years when the Dems were in charge of Congress---they were known as the tax and spenders....how did the rhetoric get turned around ? ? ?
J P........if you had the money to buy a politician......
I'm sure it would never get reported as income for them......LOL
so you wouldn't have to pay taxes on that purchase.....
as for an agenda Karl.......
I remember when Primeival Basket Weaving,,,hahaha,.....wasn't really considered a valid course of studies.......
but after interviewing hardcore and death row prisoners.....and finding out that everyone in the prison system was beaten by their parents...Psychology became valid.....there's the beginning of a plethra of events leading us now to people knowing what we need and they are going to take our money to change things for us.....I don't need a master........
she is on FOXNEWS right now on the re-airing of the Glen Beck Show.......
Some time ago, between 1940 and 1952, a guy by the name of Isaac Asimov spun a tale for a SciFi publication. The series became published later as three book, known as The Foundation Series.
In the book, the 'heroes' was the world of 'Psychologists,' who knew human behavior so well, they could predict the future and save the race from itself.
The fear that the 'psychologists' will run things predates us both.
Correction:
"but after interviewing hardcore and death row prisoners.....and finding out that everyone in the prison system was beaten by their parents"
Everyone in the system REPORTED being beaten...
There's a difference.
the foundation//the Mule//& the return of the foundation Karl..........
The actual titles escape me. "Foundations", "Second Foundation" and "Foundation and Empire", if I recall. Maybe the last two in switched order. I read them as a kid, great books.
A.E Van Vogt, in his "World of Null A," I believe from the 40's but maybe as late as the 50's, featured psychologists as the 'heroes,' too. Again, read that as a kid, loved the book, enduring characters and story.
I may have been wring on one of the titles of Assimov's Foundation Trilogy..I was sure one, maybe the second was called "The Mule".....
I am not familiar with Vogt's book though...something to find....
Did you read Rand too then Karl ? ? ?
The Mule was a major character in the second book, if I recall. Love the character, the people all in a panic because they figured 'the psychologists' couldn't have predicted such a mutation, which would gum up the works and the 1,000 year plan
Foundation
Foundation & Empire
Second Foundation
Other foundation books came later, some 20 years after the original series, which I've not read. The critics say they're good, but lack the punch of the first three books.
I suffered thorough Rand's "The Fountainhead," not finding much compelling about it.
I read Vogt's "World of Null-A," when I was twelve. The book had a power effect on my life, the way I think and the way I view the universe.
Vogt's better known for his book: "Voyage of the Space Beagle," about a star ship, whose five years mission was to seek out new life and new civilizations. Many people feel Gene Roddenberry ripped off Vogt.
I agree.
I tried to read one of the newer Foundation series but it just didn't hold my attention or interest very long......
I do remember people saying lots of things about Roddenberry concerning plagerism....but Vogt was kind of an obscure writer and Roddenberry was a new and up and coming writer....kind of sucks for Vogt....
Rand......
heavy....very heavy reading.....
but if you want an analysis of a Democratic Republic turned capitalistic.......these are the writings to read......
Love Vogt, his writing appealed to me. Roddenberry was a producer and screen writer, later writing novels. I think that makes the different. "Voyage of the Space Beagle" is worth a read, if you can get your hands on it.
And, of course, "World of Null A." Great, great story.
Rand didn't do much for me. Too self absorbed, writing too aware of itself.
I've already been looking around for that book Karl.....I have a friend who owns a used book store, he says he may have it....but he isn't 100%......
I really had to force myself through all of Rand's books, but they were something I "had" to read....by choice of course....
not much different than reading through treaties and bills......
Vogt is worth looking for. Do report back.
you recommended him Karl, so that is motivation enough for me to look......
Um Randee, I guess I am somehow out of the loop of things. When did it get announced that ACORN or any other private agency was going to be in control of the population Census??? I worked for the Bureau for 10 years and only the Republican party ever threatened to privatize the Census! I will tell you that there are too many Federal Employees that would be in a bad situation if that happened. I had trouble wading through the rest of the letter, but it doesn't go well with what I know. I am in the same boat as Karl on my income, as a disabled Federal Employee. I have insurance, but it bites BIG into my retirement income. All I have heard is from Republicans who want to CUT into the programs that have enabled me to barely get by.
ACORN is going to be out in force helping with the 2010 census taking, even CNN has reported this......
I would like this organization and all of it's tenticles investigated......I think we'd find the people that have been manipulating the markets for big profits and control of our economy......like oil futures........
I am disabled.......but not in their eyes.........I have to make my wife work 2 jobs and I do papers, internet sales--which have not been good for over a year, recycling and catalogue sales to help out...
There are many thousands of people involved with getting the census complete. That is a far cry from them doing anything with the numbers generated from the Census. There are many organizations that are trying to get the minorities and homeless counted as well. It has been a big problem for years that has skewed the Census. Many of the minorities have not answered or filed their census forms because they don't know that it affects governement programs across the board, from school funding to Low income programs and such. It has been a goal of the Bureau of the Census to get as many organizations involved in letting people know the importance of the population Census. It does not mean they are going to have any input in the numbers or the figures generated. it has been skewed for years by the people who own 2 or more homes who fill out the census for every house, instead of their primary residence too. That is why they have started a push to get the numbers correct and get rid of the skews. That includes ACORN as well.
While I am disabled and no longer able to work a physical job, social security has yet to acknowledge that I am unable to work. I don't have a spouse to work to help me either. My children have been helping me since I started with the health issues. I understand what kind of problems are out there, but we need to get the word out to people to fill out there Census forms and get them returned so that we can have a complete count, and a real idea of our population. It is because of people filling out the forms for multiple residences that so much of it has been skewed over the years. If you want to get an accurate count, so we can have the right numbers, then you make sure everybody you know fills one out!
I'm sorry...but I just do not trust ACORN......I know it's supposed to be the law to fill out those census forms.....at least that's what my dad always said....
but we need accuracy in these numbers and the way it sounds ACORN has been involved with a lot of voter fraud...14 states are already after this irganization for supposedly paying peeple to vote for others...even dead people......
I don't know about voter fraud. We need accurate numbers, and I wholeheartedly agree. All Acorn is doing is advertising the importance of the Census. In order to have anything to do with the numbers and forms you have to be a sworn census employee, and have passed a background check as well. Address registers are set up by the local offices, in which the addresses have to be verified through government databases after they are submitted. What I was telling you is that there has been problems with fraud with the census for years, though normally skewed towards the wealthy. Because of this, the Census Bureau has taken to statistically verifying information, and if any area is suddenly off the standard deviation, those areas are reverified before being put into the census. It would be difficult for any one organization to infultrate that many places that handle the numbers, as well as the main offices where the data is put all together.
I am hoping so, if these numbers were to be misrepresented it makes a difference in a lot of different programs, number of representative in Washngton...money...........
Lisa, it was a while ago that it was announced that ACORN was going to be doing the Cencus. It was after the election and all the mess about how the ACORN people had bought voter registrations and had people register numerous times. I'm surprised you hadn't heard. Of course, the mainstream media hasn't talked about it much. Fox has.
FOX has been demonized by the other 98% of the media cheerleading for the new society.........
A note to add to what Karl has said. The majority is based on the "trickle down" theory of economics. Guess what, The rich didn't get that way letting much trickle through their hands....
Randee,
You should know me well enough to know I don't take "media' as the word of God, ANY OF THEM. In my eyes Fox has demonized themselves by putting out half truths and out and out lies that can only be backed by like minded fear mongering sources. I have no use for Fox, but I also don't take ANY of the media as saying nothing but the truth. if it didn't have a spin, it wouldn't be worth reporting in most media hype. I check things for myself, with govt agencies, educational journals, and other qualified sources, depending on the information.
you know what they say Lisa........
there are always three sides to the story..............
you have to look at the two medias......
FOXNews.......
and then all of the Obama lovers and investors......
and try to find the real truths.........
I just think Fox is closer to the truth than the other 99% of the media...
but I remember a survey I took ance and I am and always will be one of the 1% ers.............
upper 1% graduating class....
the 1% who doesn't try to live on their credit......
the 1% that almost always questions what anybody says........
thank goodness, no thank GOD for freedom of speech ! ! !
well as long as we have it, probably one of the next to go........
and I forgot...the !% that doesn't trust government whatsoever..........
former President Bush to a big bite out of freedom of speech already!
I don't live on credit either. I was in the upper third of my class, so not as much. and I always check things out for myself dear friend!
i hope so Lisa.......
everyone formulates their own opinions though......and thank God for the Contitutional right of freedom of speech......
renenber though, Hitler had to demoize the Jews to help fuel his efforts....
the Romans...anybody that didn't believe as they did........
Obama......
Rush and now FOXNEWS.......and people like me......
Randee, I heard about this letter on GB's show and loved it.
his deliverance of the letter was uplifting Marilyn......like I stated in the post I was jumping up and down and cheering and trying to raise my arms in celebration too......
I'm with Brenda on this one...I hate politics.
