Teusday after checking out we met with pamela r. for breakfast/brunch at IHops. It was really fun to meet someone from Gather. She's the second friend I've met from Gather and both women have been wonderful. I do hope to meet more Gather friends in time. Pam and I had a great talk about Gather and life in general. She had brought her four-year-old with her and he was very well behaved. Well as far as a four-year-old can be LOL. I don't know why I didn't get a picture of us together, I think I just didn't want to be to pushy or impose. Still, I'm hoping we can get together another time if we ever get up that way again.
After breakfast we headed to the Buffalo Zoo. In review it's neither the best nor the worse zoo I've been to. There were some problems with some of the habitats as far as viewing was concerned. Other places it was just wonderful. As always I go to zoos mainly to see the big cats. Unfortunately the lions were snoozing in an area that all we could see was barely the fluff of the male's mane. And the tigers were nowhere to be found at all. Perhaps next time. One of the things that I collect from zoos (as is evident in some photos of me) are Tiger tee-shirts. Sadly they did not have one in my size. At least they had some, the Pittsburgh Zoo doesn't even carry adult sizes.

it's ok. I didnt get to see them at the St. Louis Zoo either and that one is my favorite (well so far)... maybe next time LOL
What a fun adventure! Our family loves to see the animals but we haven't been to the zoo in a long time. That is wonderful that you were able to meet someone from gather. I haven't done it yet. I'm scared that I won't live up to the expectations of people, and three kids are a little overwhelming for some people- especially my three...!
People are people... it's like meeting a neighbor or making friends with some one at work. There is always a risk... but mostly everyone is really cool.

Fantastic photos of a wonderful day. I used to love visiting the Bronx Zoo when we lived in NY. As a matter of fact, I had a membership so we could go often and not have to pay for parking and admission. A family of four uses the membership price on one trip.

Nancy, these are great shots. You'd love the Bronx Zoo and they just opened up in Central Park a special exhibit of snow leopards.
I'd love to visit the Bronx Zoo. In fact I'd love to visit NYCity again. Now if I could only talk my husband into it. I love the city but it's been over 10 years since my last visit.
