Yes!! I like you was once a "Point Whore" viewer...On a afternoon, I often enjoyed reading a post or viewing pretty flower's in bloom. Now, I am a "Point Post Whore".
You too can be rehabilitated!! Just agree that view's are not worthy for people to receive point's. Join with me in posting to your heart's content. I have yet to see the great poet/writer come out of Gather as of yet... Maybe in the end, it will be you or me! Then again, with out view's we may never know... =)

I've always wondered that as well. If they are such good writers, etc. why are they hawking their wares on Gather???
Now, be fair. There are a lot of talented writers and poets here on gather. All writers are not published writers not because they haven't tried, it's because there are about a billion of them out there all trying. Who knows what makes a writers material catch the eye of a credited publisher. They too have to read about a zillion of them a day. It's sort of like great singers but they do not have a place such as "America's Got Talent" to display their talents. Some of the writers are just deluded dreamers but some are very talented and they want people to read their work and this is a great place to print it. Don't read their stories if you are not interested, but you just may be missing the story from the worlds next best selling author. Who knows? Oh, by the way, I'm not an author or writer, just a silly article poster.
Okay, fair is fair. David W. is a damn good writer. And there ARE some talented photographers on here too.
Okay, after I wrote what I wrote, I felt bad about what I had commented. There is talent here. Some of the talent is very green and with encouragement from 'Comments' from other members, their talent flourish. Others have talent and are big headed and put down so many here. I read so many hateful comments lately from these big headed people that it irked me into saying something I regret now.
That is why i think the comments and views mean so much to those just starting out. Photographers, writers, poets, yes, there are quite a few. I apologize for my comment.
And what will happen to the Troll Whores and The B****ing Whores who griped about the Point Whores? Now that they won't have the Point whores to turn in or troll, what Will They Do? Oh, the horror! They might have to come up with something Original too?
No, they aren't that smart... Now they are just flagging everyone in eye site. =D

Which reminds me I have HUNDREDS of flower photos to post. I should just do them all at once since no one will even look at them anyway. It's all about the posting process!

As long as you aren't a Copy & Paste Whore, I am fine with you being a Post Whore. As long as its original and you own it, you can give it up whenever you like!
And, being a "reformed" whore, you can now preach to all the other whores and bring them to "the light!"

I do think that people will still comment. Here's why -- if you want to get views, people have to know you exist. My philosophy is to view something by everyone who comments on my posts. I try to return comments too, but sometimes I just don't have anything to say. However, anybody who comments on my posts WILL get at least a page view back from me. If more people Gather this way, views will still happen.
Mine makes 71 comments...not too bad for less comments!!!!
