Nic and I put a lot of thought into the Father's Day present for my Stepfather. I wanted to share what we are giving him as a present in the hopes that maybe one of you could benefit from the idea. Feel free to copy me. In fact, I encourage you to if you have not yet picked up something for that special 'Dad' in your life.
I want to give my Stepfather 'hope' and financial peace. These days everyone seems to be struggling financially, watching life pass them by and wondering 'is this it?'
No. This is not it!
We bought my Stepfather a 'bundle' pack from Dave Ramsey's website. We have talked to him before about financial stress. Knowing his politics, his beliefs, along with his fears and dreams, we know he will benefit. Dave Ramsey has been lifechanging for us in the way we view our money, in the way we live our lives, bringing hope back when we thought it was lost. When we thought we would live paycheck to paycheck like so many other Americans we decided enough was enough. Listening to Dave Ramsey, we learned we did not have to live that way. We have been inspired by the MILLIONS of people whose lives have been touched and changed forever; by the success stories of families on all incomes paying off incredible debt and talking about it; by the Biblical principles, the moral and ethical values, being able to give and still make a life for yourself. We have been forever altered.
We are giving my stepfather HOPE for Father's Day. I am a member of Dave Ramsey's "My Total Money Makeover" website where I can download and listen to his radio shows when I am not able to listen to them live. I downloaded one of the days where families called in to scream that they are debt free - I cry everytime I hear it. The emotion is so pulpable. I put 3 hours of one show on 2 cds and am including it with the bundle.

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink; you can also give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, or teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime. All I hope to do is plant the seed of hope. Maybe my Mom will listen to it too. It's not too late for them! It's not too late for you! It's not too late for any of us! And maybe . . . just maybe . . . God will work in their hearts and help them be the change they need to give them Financial Peace and Freedom for the rest of their lives. It won't be easy, but the rewards are worth it!
As Dave says . . . "If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else!"

WE LOVE DAVE RAMSEY! What a brilliant man and his TMMO is absolutely life-changing. My parents went through it last year and they almost have their house paid for! We are on baby step 3. Life is a lot less stressful with a little financial peace!
I've heard dave ramsey is pretty good.
My stepdad is Dave Ramsey...ok not really but he could be! That is a good idea though.

As a result of following Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University and the Baby Steps, we were able to turn our financial lives around. As a result, we have no debt, paid off our house, saved up college fund for each of our kids, have more than adequate retirement funds, and ready to retire early.
As Michelle says, "If you will live like no one else, later you can live like no one else!" We did exactly did, and have unbelievable financial peace.
Oh, by the way, our family just came back from Alaskan cruise, remodeled our house, preparing to buy a used car, with no debt. We plan to buy a second home soon.
I think he'll really like it.
