Please pray for my parents. A tornado hit Austin, MN, and my parents are in their van along I-90, right where the tornados are, trying to get home. They've been pulled over - heavy hail, rain, wind. Just please pray. Emergency vehicles screaming by. Thanks.
Sherrie

They will be in my prayers
Thank you. If they can just get to shelter, but it is pretty wide open where they are.
They were at Sam's Club buying groceries for the Blue Belle. I feel awful.
They're 74 years old. Bad knees and hips, so climbing in the ditch isn't a very good option.
It's a 9.7 stength tornado, and major hail.
Oh Sherrie, I will say a prayer for them right now.
Thanks.
Oh my goodness - sending prayers - may God keep them safe.
Thank you! I am waiting for news.
Now there's a tornado warning for our county, too. Please keep praying.
Will do Sherrie, keep us posted if you can.
you got it Sherrie. keep us posted.
My prayers are with you and your family. Please keep us posted
Thanks, April. I am so thanful they're safe, but it looks like a stormy night ahead.
They made it safely home. Just found out my sister is in Charles City, iowa, though, trying to get home, and in the middle of another tornado between they and their home. So keep praying. Thanks.
Glad your folks are safely home.
There is evidently a lot of damage in Austin, MN, my home town. Lots of friends and family there, damage, some minor injury and power outages.
I was just watching this on the weather channel. I am glad that your parents are safe.
I am so sorry to hear about the damage in your hometown.....I shall keep you and your entire family in my prayers......take care!
I am glad they made it home OK!
I'll definitely pray.
Prayers heading your way, Sherrie. Glad to hear your folks are alright. I'm so sorry to hear about the tornadoes and the damage. I hope that, in the light of day, it will be minimal and that no one is seriously hurt. Stay safe and I'll keep those prayers coming for you, your family, and your friends. God bless. ^i^
Hope they arrive home safely
Sherrie, Glad they made it. And sending the same for your sister. I am not ignoring your request about the beach. I'm just pooped. Oregon and Washington coasts are very different. Are you connected with Allison H. She lives on the Olympic Penn. Will get back to you later.
Take care of you and yours.
OMG That's horrible! I hope everyone gets through the night safely!
I'm glad to hear your parents got out okay. We are supposed to get a week os t-storms and it's probably what is blowing through you now... only it SHOULD weaken for us... I hope.
I pray the best for them. That would scare me if it was my elderly parents. I feel for you. We have been getting tornado warnings here along with severe lighting. so far no tornados have touched down in this immediate area. Thank goodness.
I hope everyone is safe.
Thank you all for your prayers. Mom and Dad were just down to deliver the groceries from Sam's they had gotten in Rochester. The van seems okay despite 2" hail. Dad says Chrysler tin is tough. They were a bit shook up. Mom said by the Nature Center Exit the freeway signs were down and a tree was partially over the road by the exit. Highway 218 north is closed. Impassable. Cars overturned. Todd Park is bad, the Industrial Park got it. Tombs overturned and trees uprooted at the cemetery across from the Holiday Inn. That's all I know. No power in most of Austin and Albert Lea, MN. Hope to hear word that other friends and relatives in north Austin are okay. Phones and power are out. Cell phones aren't working well.
Wow! And I've been complaining about a little rain. Only goes to show ya...things can be worst.
Just a mile or two up the road from where they pulled over to wait out the storm, all the signs were down on I-90 and trees were partially blocking the road. I'm glad they stayed where they were and that the tornado didn't drop down on them. They were so close. Very scary.
I hope today finds all your family and friends safe from tornados.
Oh, Sherrie, I can only imagine how terrifying that must have been. I hope you have word from your sister by now, and that all are well. I have not yet seen the news, and was in bed by the time you posted this last night. Prayers all around, and not just for your family.
Thanks. My sister made it home fine - she said it was not a fun drive, but they stayed safe.
Reading down the comment thread...good to hear your sister is fine, too.
OMGosh, Sherrie. As soon as I heard 3 tornadoes had touched down in Austin, I thought about you and your family. Never dreamed your parents would be out in all that terrible weather. Tornadoes terrify me. They're so powerful and unpredictable. Very grateful to hear they made it home safely.
Thanks, Marianne. I felt so powerless knowing the tornado was right on top of them and nothing they or I could do. I'm so thankful they are safe.
I was up there with my little nieces about 30 minutes before the tornados struck. Too close for comfort.
Keep praying, I guess! We're in the middle of a severe storm now, and sounds like the day holds more of the same. Thanks!
Just opened my window ... the air feels so thick and murky here in St. Paul. Thinking about you ...
Phew...all clear?
All clear. The poor van is a mess from the hail, but there is no deductible, so all is well. And we really don't care about vans anyway. Just glad Mom and Dad are safe and sound.
I'm so glad they were all ok.
I am so glad everything's ok, I would have been terrified myself.
That was so scary - I guess I'm too late but I said a prayer anyway.
What a stressful time for you and yours, Sherri!
I, too, am here late and just praise God you are all OK!
I'm so glad to hear they are okay. Those stormy nights with mulitple tornadoes are so scary.
I am glad your family is all ok. That had to have been scary being out in all that bad weather.
sorry I missed this. The weather this year has been crazy!
Wow. Glad you're all ok.
Wow - that was close. Sorry I missed this when you sent it out. I hope all your family members are safe - especially your parents and were able to get help to clean up.
