Earlier today before my traffic court appearance, I headed to the other side of Conway, South Carolina to visit Loretta's Daylily Farm. I had seen this place a time or two during my travels to and from the beach, but this was the first time I actually have visited this the farm.

I was pretty overwhelmed when I pulled in. There were hundreds of daylily varieties planted all over the property. They handed me a catalog and toured me around the various daylily beds. I was so drawn into taking photos, which was thankfully allowed, that I felt bad for the girl waiting on me.

To spare her dealing with my photo taking, I quickly chose two Gentle Shepherd, a nearly white variety that is sort of ivory and sort of pale yellow, depending on how you look at it. I also chose two Grand Marnier Souffle, which is called a pale light orange, but it looks peachy colored to me. This variety has a lovely light scent. My car smelled wonderful driving home.

While they were digging up my lilies, I toured the grounds and shot close to 150 photos. I've only chosen a fraction of them for this article too.

It wasn't until I returned home that I realized that Loretta's has over 600 kinds of Dalylilys available. That's a lot of daylilies!

For anyone interested, Loretta's does ship for a $10 flat rate fee. The farm daylilies ranged from $5 to $10 for a two fan plant. That's great pricing for such glorious flowers! You can visit them online at http://www.lorettasdaylilyfarm.com/.

Hope you enjoyed visiting the dalily farm with me. I'll show photos of the ones I purchased after I do some planting around here. Thanks for viewing!

Oh, these are splendid photos, Marianne! Who needs to visit the farm when I hae you for a friend?
Such wonderful daylilies! I love that they come in so many varieties. I have probably a half-dozen varieties at our Texas house.
These are stunning Marianne! How fun to tour a day lily farm. There are some real beauties there. I only have some of the boring orange ones in my yard and they haven't bloomed yet. I would have loved this place.

Daylilies are such a great flower. Trouble is they don't seem to like it all that much in my garden. I've tried several different varieties from plain to fancy and out of about twenty I have two left:(
Oh and I loved that double layer orange one - stunning color.
That was my favorite out of all of them too, Rose! :)
My sister and I just saw an ad in todays paper for a Daylily Farm about 15 miles from here. I had no idea there was one that close. We are contemplating a trip to check it out.......Your photos are beautiful! I see a whole bunch I would love to have in my yard.

Wow, that is a lot of different lilies. It's a good photo essay, and looking at flowers just doesn't make me sneeze like the real things. LOL
So many beauties all in one place, how wonderful. You must have been amazed. Beautiful photos,
Thanks so much for sharing with my group.
You got some pretty photos there. I didn't even know there were that many varieties of daylilies! Of course I probably wouldn't know a daylily if it walked into the house and said "Hey! I'm a daylily!" LOL I am not knowledgable AT ALL about plants.
Nice variations in color.
Wonderful photo essay! I loved all the blooms. Gorgeous aren't they? :)
