Just had a conversation witha friend--We talked about many things one topice really got me thinking....She told me man was created in GOD image; so is GOd male and female?; is this why some people feel they are born in the wrong body? It doesn't change my feeling one way or the other but it just got my brain awondering!!!

I don't think being made in God's image has so much to do with how we LOOK, but how we are...that we can think, have emotions and such as that.
Winona is right, also God is a Spirit and non gender specific.
God does not have a physical body and is non-gender, it refers more to our conscious state. And Pamela is right, we can never completely understand God or He would not be God because He would not be more than we are. He is Infinite and we are finite--unlimited and we are limited.
God is neither a HE or a SHE...God just is (in our minds and in our hearts)
An interesting concept. I had to think about this one. I've often heard it used to explain why God was a He, but always discounted that because I don't picture God with a penis. Of course, I don't picture Him with an appendix or belly button either. I always picture Him as a spirit, an energy, instead of humanoid.
I suspect most of the "in the wrong body" stuff is because we've traditionally put certain things in male or female roles. People think that because they are more like the traditional sex role, they were meant to be the other sex. Even today as we are heading for more enlightenment (in my day no male would wear pink or enjoy a chick flick) we still tend to comment if a woman "wears the pants" or if a man is too sensitive.
