On a recent cruise, while docked at a port in Vigo, Spain, my husband and I noticed alot of seagulls flying around along side of our ship. We soon discovered that other passengers were throwing food to them off their balconies. Since we wanted to get in on the action, we looked around our cabin to see what we might have to feed them. All we had was a banana. We decided to see if the seagulls would eat chunks of banana off our deck railing. Well, who knew... they loved it!! So I positioned myself at the far end of the balcony and started snapping photos as my husband set the banana chucks out.
Here's a few shots for you to enjoy!

Coming in for a landing!

"Hmmmmm... what have the humans left for us?"

"Well... I think this is worth a try to see how it tastes."

Coming back for the last bite!
What a treat to see such beautiful and graceful birds up close and personal!

Wow, wonderful photos.......oh neat....your cruise sounds absolutely magnificent!!! Where all are you going, besides Spain? How long? I am saving money like mad, as I am trying to plan one super, super vacation for us for next year........possibly a nice cruise, or even go somewhere, like to Italy........I think that would be sooooooo awesome! After seeing such incredibly wonderful travel photos, I now have the "bug" and have it bad......LOL!!!!!! Also, prices on traveling are super cheap right now so guess this is a great time to travel!
Hope you're having an incredibly wonderful time!
Hi Nora! We took our cruise last month. It was a two week cruise across the Atlantic, stopping in Bermuda, Lisbon/Portugal, Vigo/Spain, Cherbourg/France and ending up in Harwich/England. We had a fabulous time. My husband and I love to cruise! Yes, this is a good time to get some great rates, so hope you can get something booked and go... you'll love it!!

Wonderful action shots! You captured the seagulls perfectly against the backgroud of the sea and the hills.

We had a fantastic time, Carol! Thanks for asking!
I love these photos, great shots. I'd never think of feeding them a banana, but then again they do seem to eat anything.
Thanks so much for sharing with my group.
You are welcome, Nana!
Fantastic shots.
Great captures!
Did any of them poop on you? They are famous for that trick. My Dad used to call them "dirty birds."
Nope... not a single poop on the railing or anywhere, thank goodness!
Wonderful shots!
We were at the beach a couple of years ago and there were signs every where telling you not to feed the birds. They went onto say that fries are not in their natural diets and would be better suited finding their own food. LOL this reminded me of that which I still find funny. Now I always stop and think at what point does something like fried become part of their diet? If they all start eating them?! Can we write our congressmen? :0)
That's crazy! Well, there weren't any signs in the ocean, so guess we were okay!
DON'T FEED THE SEAGULLS.
lol
Wow. Those are beautiful.
