Governor Sarah Palin star has diminished since her failed attempt at becoming the first female vice-president and her gearing up as a potential candidate for the next presidential election has received mediocre support and attention since. That was until comedian and late night show host David Letterman made a joke concerning Palin’s 18 year old daughter, now Palin’s pundits and the GOP media machine, aka The Fox News Channel, have quit successfully turned the joke into a media storm and attack against Letterman, CBS and the Freedom of Speech, all in an effort to paint Palin as a victim, thereby reigniting her fading flame and possible run for President in the far future.
Let me begin by stating the fact that David Letterman is a comedian and he has never made himself out to be anything else. Having seen Letterman and the comedy bit in question, I can honestly say that Letterman through the joke suggested or condone the rape or molestation of woman, children or Palin’s daughter. To suggest other wise is idiotic, short sighted and or self serving. To take this joke and make it into a justification to vilify an entertainer and the network he represents is again idiotic, short sighted and or self serving.
So once again we need to step up against those that would silence anything and anyone that does not conform to their standards or the mold that they believe everyone should fit into. Once again, those that believe themselves to be the only way need to be stopped before we become a nation of clones. This need to be PC is more of a burden than a help. Remember this was a joke and build into something else as a means to reignite Palin’s fading star is just another attack by the GOP on the freedom of speech, or perhaps I am just making a mountain out of a mole hill.

She is VERY shortsighted and self serving, like her party. *wink wink*
True, Peter, no winks about it!!!
She's vacuous and it amazes me that there was even enough substance to create a joke.
Websters definition of comedy fits Letterman's efforts perfectly well.
"Vacuous" what a grand word to describe and summarize her. According to what I have found on Google, she is quite intelligent, but she is totally uninformed! Katie asked her what she read, and she had no answer. Even Reagan read something-- the great Reader's Digest!
She's pleased as punch to be getting the attention.
Her followers cannot see how devastatingly she affected the last election outcome. I love to watch the Katie Couric interviews, and the turkey episode is one of the funniest of all episodes. I've watched both several times on You Tube.
That turkey episode all but made me sick...I kept thinking about what a conceited idiotic cow she must be to think all eyes would be glued on her and not on what's going on behind her.
I live in Alaska. I'd say to all of you...BEWARE THIS WOMAN! She is dangerous. She called a librarian in her area and asked what the proceedure was to get some books banned from the library! There are other things but that is the most dangerous.
Pitbulls have a baaaadddd rep, lipstick or not.
If she paid more attention to her kids and less to political vainglory, maybe she would not be a grandmother now. The guy lived in her house, for crying out loud....!
Seriously? she called a library about banning books?
She did. Fact. Wasilla Library.
eh, it happens
Good post, Juan. Thanks!
You mean that what Letterman said was NOT POLITICALLY CORRECT? I thought that the Republicans favored letting it all hang out even if it insulted the helpless.
