The kids and I witnessed the funniest thing last night. I sure wish I had the camcorder charged up so I could have caught it on video because it was a classic!
The dog was standing by the garbage can and was watching to see if anyone was looking so he could try to sneak his nose under the lid and push it off the can to get in the garbage. I told Scout (dog) to get away from there and he slunk over and plopped himself down right in front of me in my chair with his head between his paws giving me this look with his big brown eyes of "you won't let me have any fun." He had also laid right down next to our 19 pound Maine Coon cat named Addie who was in the process of giving herself a cleaning. There's the cat with a hind leg in the air and you should have seen the look she was giving the dog! The kids and I are all watching now and Scout is oblivious. You can tell Addie is thinking "What on earth makes you think I want you anywhere near me??" You would really understand this if you've seen how often the dog thinks the cats are his personal toys and entertainment.
Well, Addie is not entertained! While we are watching, she, just like a snake striking, opens her mouth and nips the dog squarely on the butt! The dog's head shot up and he's looking around with a "WHAT?!" expression on his face. The kids and I are just rolling with laughter and I'm crying because it was so darn funny! The cat then gets up and with her tail in the air walks off like "I took care of him! Serves him right for invading my space. Stupid dog."

ROFL! That would make a classic Email JOKE!
It was so funny to watch. We all knew something was going to happen except for the dog. You could just tell by the look in Addie's eyes.
Two thousand years ago man worshipped cats as Gods. Cat's have never forgotten this!
All bow to Bastet!
All bow to Shakti! :)
Leah you got that one right. ~ LoL! You're your usual riot self this fine Sunday!
Too hilarious!!!!
Malachi gets nothing over on the cats around here, but then again he's about the same size as he is...I just love animals
OMG. You described this perfectly. I can see the how thing taking place!!
It was so funny to see. The dog got his for once.
LOL..cats are so funny somtimes. Every now and then our kittly Lola will just pounce on one of our dogs like that. Like you I figure they deserve it now and then since they think Lola is for their personal entertainment as well!
hilarious!
LOL. She sure put that dog in his place.
LOL, bet he doesn't think of the cat; as a plaything anymore.
Nope, I swear the dog has ADHD. He won't remember and will go right back for more.
LOL! That must have been hilarious!
I had a deaf cat (Malcolm--white, with blue eyes) who liked to roam around outside with his best buddy (and half brother, Thomas, the tuxedo cat). Both were quite large cats (15 and 16 lbs, respectively) but where Thomas was self-effacing, Malcolm was emphatically NOT. One day, the neighbor's Lab came loping over, looking for a game of 'which one of you will I chase' and Thomas took off towards a tree. The Lab got within a few feet of him when Malcolm made a flying leap and landed on the dog's back....that 90 lb. Lab took off across the yard, yelping for all he was worth, with Malcolm clinging on for dear life, biting the dog's neck and digging in with all four feet! Once his transport carried off our property, Malcolm 'stepped off' and calmly walked back into our yard, sat down, hiked a leg in the air and started washing his backside....it took two hours for Thomas to calm down enough to get himself down from the tree. The Lab never did come back to our yard again....
That would have been fun to see. I love it when the cats win these type of encounters.
Renee, that was over thirty years ago and I remember it just as clearly as if I'd seen it yesterday. Malcolm was quite a character....sadly, he went out one day without Thomas and didn't hear the approach of the car that hit him--or the horn that the driver blew. He didn't survive it. My father buried him in the back yard and for several years Thomas would nap on his grave. Thomas himself lived to be 17 but we had to put him to sleep when he developed diabetes...in those days, there wasn't any insulin for cats.
That's so sad. Cats make the best friends/pets.
I agree Renee my bests friends and listeners have all been cats!
I can't picture this perfectly. Very cute, Renee.
That would have been quite funny to watch.
that's classic! sounds like my cat Charlie. thanks for the giggle.
that sounds so funny
I love this story! Just cause they are bigger doesn't mean the dog rules!!!!
You have been featured at FELINE FANCY!! :-)

LOL too funny! Poor pup for getting the nip but still funny
even the cat know Scout was in trouble.....
this is great Renee......
thanks........
cute kitty, even when he is mad :)
poor puppy
Poor puppy, not. The dog was just getting some of his back.
You painted a perfect word video. I'm laughing.
I had a cat once that used to hide at door openings for me to step though so he could jump on my leg, this happend lots of times. I would scream my head off and my children would laugh their heads off ... LOL.
Thanks. It was so hilarious when it was happening. My husband was already in bed, asleep. I'm surprised we didn't wake him up since we were laughing so loud and hard.
Hahaha, that's funny! Animals are a hoot.
Fun story, very nicely written!
they are both so CUTE! You can imagine the fun I have with 3 cats and a ferret, of which usually brave cats are terrified of.... :)
That is a hoot! Makes me almost want to get a cat so I can see the antics between cat and dogs. :)
LOL!
Our cat will be sitting there innocent looking as all get out. As the dog walks by minding his own business. he reaches up and wacks him one on the nose. Then just like yours she walks away as if to say" collected that toll."
Thanks for your comment on my Mexcian recipe.
what a great story. I was picturing it as I read it.

That is so like a cat, we have 3 and they are like that with us, big time. When we go out and come back, boy do we get attitude.
