Back Here on Gather.

You know, you really never know how bad something is until you get a new one to replace the old one.  I've been missing here from Gather for a couple of weeks because my monitor was in the process of going to the happy place in the sky for monitors.  It was the original one that came with my computer 6 years ago.  One of the huge CRT ones and it was only 15".  But I never really had a good reason to just up and replace it.  Yes I longed for and always looked at the flat screen ones, but figured eventually I would get one if I get a new system.  Well, for the past month or so everything started going dark.  And I mean really dark.  I had to set the monitor settings up on 100% brightness and that didn't even really help.  Also played with my graphics card settings to where I could at least see stuff, but it was extremely washed out.  I could tell all this squinting to see stuff had started giving me more headaches.  And those are never fun.  So I headed over to amazon with a friend who knows about this stuff, and we picked out a new Acer P191w 19" flatscreen and widescreen monitor.  Used my some of my Swagbucks gift cards and paid for the rest.  It arrived this week, and I am completely amazed at how much I had been missing!  I can actually make out what some of yall look like now.  lol.  I love not having to scroll across and everything about this monitor is great.  It looks sooo much better sitting here than that old big thing.
