Jacksonville, FL - Hector Rivera, a mid-level drug dealer, from the north side of Jacksonville, found several plastic bags filled with more than $1,600,000 in cash Friday evening on Main Street, the drug cartel said.
The drug dealer normally makes deliveries at 6 p.m. on Fridays, but the dealer was working late because an area high school was having their prom and many students wanted to score some drugs, said drug cartel spokesman, Juan Alvarez.
"I was walking out to my stolen car for a couple of kilo bags of marijuana when I saw what I thought were bags of trash on the side of the road," Rivera said.
When Rivera went to move the bags, he realized they were filled with cash. A prostitute working her corner came over to help Rivera load the money into his trunk, and Rivera contacted his supervisors in the drug cartel and told them what he had found.
The bags are believed to have been left, as directed, on the side of the road as ransom for an area kidnapping. Drug cartel members are trying to determine the best way to launder the money, Alvarez said.
"It's the most amount of money I've ever seen in my life. And truth be told, I was tempted to keep it," Rivera said. "I'm so glad I was here tonight. I was happy to give the money to my bosses to help build our drug empire."
Hector Rivera was rewarded with a 3-pound brick of marijuana for being honest and turning the money over to the cartel. Rivera isn't sure if he'll sell the marijuana to buy a car or use it himself, with friends, to celebrate his find.

I wouldn't sell the brick of marijuana to buy a car. I'd share it with my friends.
I am not fond of drug dealers: He should have given it to the police especially if it was left for a kidnapping ransom. Sure he wants to build his drug empire. People like this are not heros. They are scum. Hopefully writing this article for the news shows how stupid drugs make your brains. If you have any left. I am glad that God will judge you one day. Hopefully he will be more merciful then I would to drug dealers selling to children.
Marijuana does not make one stupid. Alcohol does.
"Marijuana does not make one stupid. Alcohol does."
John,
You sound like the poster boy for a new Joint Task Force on the subject. But I think the anser is obvious.
Hey was this a real story!
Annmarie,
Some of it is true. I did see someone pick-up some change in the parking lot at Wal-Mart today. I changed some of the facts to make it more interesting.
I was there and I saw it, too. Kartman changed all of the facts. There was a little kid, about 6 or 7-years-old, who found about 85 cents in the parking lot at Wal-Mart. His little sister helped him pick the change up.
He told his mother he was going to buy a candy bar with the change he found.
After Kartman watched the movie, "JFK", by Oliver Stone, he thinks he can take poetic license and alter the facts to make it more interesting for any viewers.
Thank the lord for Kartman! =)
that was my baby daddy, we had a big party last night and invited all our friends and clients
this story is classic! the "drug empire" sounds like a walmart super-center for pot! ;)
Hmmm, 85,000 deaths a year directly related to alcohol, college binge drinking is on the rise and so it seems alcohol is the real gateway drug.
Marijuana deaths since 1900, NONE!
I think those who were murdered by drug cartels would disagree.
That's the result of government prohibition
