In addition to making Prayer Beads to donate to my church for them to sell, I've also been making Rainbow of Faith bracelets.
What is a rainbow of faith bracelet and what does it stand for?
These bracelets are made up of beads with different colors:
- Yellow represents God's perfect light
- Black represents our sins
- Red represents the blood Jesus shed for us
- Green represents the new life we have in Jesus
- Blue represents our baptism
- White represents purity
- Purple represents the crown of life
I'm working on making them in all price ranges so that everyone who wants one (including children) will be able to afford them (from $1 up). We have been selling these as well and the money goes to the Cursillo Scholarship Fund (just like with the prayer beads).
I especially like making the memory wire wrap bracelets because I can customize the charms on the end.

They're very nice!
Thank you so much!
These are lovely.
Thank you, I really appreciate it as I'm just a beginning beader but I came up with the idea of the wrap bracelets w/the chip beads and charms on my own as something that would be a little more 'stylish' and just plain different :)
They're lovely! I like the one with the cross on it best.
Thanks! :) I have all kinds of charms (and can buy other stuff too) to use for these.
I didn't even know such a thing existed, I am so happy you have such a talent. I wish you lived closer, I would get one for me and momma!
Honestly I hadn't either until someone from my church showed me some glass bead ones they purchased through Oriental Trading but they were very small (like for a small child's wrist). So myself and another lady at my church have been making them. She makes nice ones too, they are different than mine. Trying you appeal to all people, ya know? And for those who aren't interested in the 'rainbow of faith' idea, I can make the wrap bracelets with chip beads/stones that they prefer with whatever kind of charm they prefer too. :)
I have been considering either opening up an online store or trying to sell some on ebay too. What do you think? I wasn't sure if there would be outside interest. If you truly are interested, we could arrange something through the mail ;)
Great idea. I find that both boys and girls also like to wear that type of bracelet. I've done craft shows and religious items sell well. Grandparents, especially, like to buy the little bracelets for the 3-6 age group.
Wow! I wouldn't have even thought about bracelets like this for guys.. I may have to check into this and see how I could make them a little more masculine. Any ideas? Thanks! :)
Guys like muted colors and all the colors you are using can be obtained in a "quieter" shade. You seem to be using Czech beads. You can also get beads that are less shiny, but just as pretty. Fire Mountain gems has a lot of both. Czech Druk and cat eye would work well.
Using natural stones would probably run the price up a bit but they would be at your high end in sales. Red - garnet, blue - lapis, black - onyx, green - peridot, yellow - citrine, purple - amethyst, white - pearl. I do a lot of bracelets using elastic and bali spacers between the beads. They are very nice. I also make sure I have sizes from 6 3/4" to 8 1/2" for women. Men's would be 8 - 9 1/2". I would also suggest anklets. They are huge sellers this time of year. 9-11" is good for women.
Thanks! Just got my Fire Mountain catalog in the mail the other day. Soooo much I want to order. Trying to figure out what to start out with ;) I know I need to order spacers and stuff like that.
Lovely. I remember seeing one when my kids were small but I'd forgotten how the colors work. Thanks.
