My husband and I are big fans of Little River Band. We have seen them three times in concert. Our song is "Lady", and as our anniversary nears at the end of the month, it reminds us those times way back when, during our dating time.
One of the songs that really tugs at my heart is "Who Made The Moon" performed by Little River band. Wayne Nelson a member of the Little River Band lost his daughter in an accident. He says he wrote this song for both of his children. He speaks for 2 minutes 40 seconds before the song is played. It is a heart wrenching but wonderful piece. It evokes great emotion.
It makes you want to cry and hug your children.
Here are the lyrics:
Her little eyes looked up to the evening sky
As twilight spread across her sweet face she wondered why
She turned to me to ask who made it so
So sure that I would know
Who made the moon, who paints the sky
Who hangs the stars and turns them on each night
Who tells the rose it's time to bloom
How do Junebugs know it’s June
Dad, who made the moon
As that little girl grew up to discover life
She found that people’s words could cut deeper than a knife
But somehow hers were always used for good
I guess she understood
Who made the moon, who paints the sky
Who hangs the stars and turns them on each night
Who fills the hearts, that have no room
With shooting stars and toy balloons
Dad, who made the moon
And who decides who gets to live
And who decides its time to die
And who decides the ones you love
Don’t get to say goodbye
Now I sit alone and search the evening sky
I’d give everything I’ll ever own for just one more night
To hold her close and share the mystery
And hear her asking me
Who made the moon, who paints the sky
Who hangs the stars and turns them on each night
Who shows the world how to play in tune
She got her answers way too soon
She knows who made the moon
Who made the moon, who paints the sky
Who hangs the stars and turns them on each night
How can I fill this empty room
Why'd she have to leave so soon
God, who made the moon

heartbreaking and haunting but somehow the faith shines through. I am not familar with this song, but sure wish I had seen the band.............
"Oh, lady, you're out on the dance floor
making me want 'cha somehow".......................... *sigh*
"take time to make time"................................(good memories here)

Great song!!
Haven't thought of the Little River Band in years, but loved them decades ago.
a ten for you
Incredible song. Had an opportunity to see Wayne and the band a few months ago! They were AMAZING! You forget how many hits they had. They put on a great show, and hung around for a good hour afterwards talking and signing autographs, made it really a personal experience for my wife and me!
