My family and I just returned from our 3 day vacation at the Key Largo Manatee Bay Resort, and what a great vacation it was. The hotel turned out to be really nice, and we spent a lot of time there relaxing by the beach or swimming in the pool.
My husband is already off working, and his phone was basically buzzing ever since we returned to the mainland. It was so nice to see trees, swamp and ocean instead of houses, stores and roads, and I surely enjoyed our escape to the "wilderness".
I have lots of photos to share, but I have to sort through them all first. We were incredibly lucky with the weather, as it was raining a lot all week up to our vacation day. On Tuesday we left Miami with rain in the forecast, and while it did start to drizzle when we first arrived in Key Largo, it remained sunny for the rest of our vacation...of course it started drizzling again once we hit Homestead.
The beautiful Royal Poinciana trees were flowering all over Key Largo. This photo of the hotel entrance was taken at sunrise this morning.
The hotel had a nice little beach, where the boys spent lots of time playing at the edge of the water.
The tiki bar opened at 3 p.m., and although we did not take advantage of it, it provided a great atmosphere, and the tropical music created the perfect beach mood.
If we were not swimming at the beaches, we were swimming in the pool. There were not many guests at the hotel, and we often had the pool all to ourselves.
The view from the hotel was incredible, as it was located right out to the Manatee Bay. My husband and I spent many hours in the shade of the palm trees, while we would watch the boys play at the beach.

The little one is doing good Diana. The contractions has slowed down and they are no longer as painful, so maybe he is sticking it out to the end. Six weeks to go:)

Thank you everyone. It was definitely a place that was hard to leave, but now we know it is there. I promised my husband that as long as he is working as many hours as he does, I will make sure that we can go on a hotel vacation every year. Last year we went camping, and I guess he really did enjoy the luxury....I did too:)
