Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist as is Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the Islamic convert, who shot two Army recruiters, killing one. Other homegrown terrorists are Scott Roeder the man, who is being held for the murder of Dr. George Tiller, one of the few doctors who perform late term abortions. In the last couple of days these lowlifes and members of this growing American born violence is James von Brunnis, a white supremacist who storm the Holocaust Museum in Washington D.C. killing 6 year veteran Officer Stephen Tyrone Johns The whole objective of a terrorist and or a terrorist organization is to inflict and create fear in their victims. So in reality even though the McVeighs of the world are American born they are in their very nature akin to Al-Qaeda and Hamas and they and the groups they belong to should be treated as such.
I have no sympathy for any of these evil individuals. The insane reasoning behind their actions will never be enough to justify the taking of an innocent life. As Americans we should take a stand against this growing trend and we should all cry out “Enough” “Enough, no more.”.

I've know I had it with these acts of domestic terrorism and no matter what anyone says they are not random events. These acts are fueled by hate talk. Both the KKK and NAZI party started with people talking "What we need to do is" then the first African American was lynched and the first concentration camp was built.

I long ago tired of the hate speech and acts against innocent people but we seemed to have fallen into a false sense of entitlement to be rude and nasty. The re emergence of this came with the Reagan era when it seemed anyone who wasn't rich and conservative had the right to call everyone else names, to ignore basic decencies and to be as obnoxious as one could be. By the time GWB became president it had become acceptable by all the right winged talking heads and many fed off that in their regular lives. Rarely do I read either here on Gather or in a commentary any place an article which does not contain creative name calling for those who do not think like the writer. We've allowed through apathetic communications a low life sort of exchange with little or no shame in it. While many are looking beyond our shores for the enemy I see our enemy right here inside us.
You are so right, the darkness lies within our own shores and has for many years. Too many tolerate the hate speeches of people because they agree with there political standpoint. We have to stop it in our own country instead of trying to police the world.
Hate comes from lazy thinking. Its very easy to blame someone who looks, prays, or lives a different lifestyle than it is to do the really hard work of sorting through the BS and coming up with the real reasons for societies ills

I watch a Fox interview where the guest ever so slightly implied that the current violence is the fault of the Obama Administration.
I wouldn't say that it's fault but I have seen many supporters of his on Gather make their "predictions" that now that Obama was elected the loonies will come out of the wood work. So I've seen some on the the "left" make the flimsy connection to Obama and the senseless acts these lunatics commited.
By not facing the truth and not calling these individuals and the groups they belong to what they really are, Terrorists, our government is attempting to pull the wool over our eyes and makes believe that the only enemies we have to worry about are beyond our boarders. This has nothing to do with being a Republican or Democrat and more having to do with simply being politicians.. .
