Americans are at ease with their country's aggression against Afghanistan, Iraq, and Pakistan, which has resulted in a million dead Muslim civilians and several million refugees, because the US government has filled Americans with fear of terrorists. "We have to kill them over there before they come over here."

It wouldn't be so bad if just money was involved but the murder of millions of people and destruction of innocent peaceful live that can never recover is the most heinous act in modern history. this confidence scam is continued today though a new presidential leader following the murderous route of pipeline to Eurasia that America has no right to.
McCarthyism demanded you peek into your neighbors house and report any suspicious activity, check under every bush and shrub to find communists looking to do you harm. McCarthyism also created the arms race that has wasted untold billions of dollar to build weapons that are capable of destroying whole continents. When senator McCarthy died McCarthyism died with him at least to the extent that people started settling down and stopped wasting their money building backyard bomb shelters and stopped spying on their neighbors. Unfortunately our government that is tied closer to military arms buildups to support corporate cronies have created something they could not stop is they wanted to.
President Eisenhower warned the public of the dangers of becoming a military state,unfortunately the public did not take the warning serious and from Kennedy to Obama their has been a methodical buildup of unnecessary arms until we get to today where the military consumes 50% of our entire budget, more than all other countries combined.
The politically correct of both parties are the major responsibility for such unfounded military aggression America is forcing on the world today. Also the willingness of the politically correct to allow their control of their own government to be designated to political insurrection such as sweeping the rule of law under the table and allowing government to maintain a continuous attack on our freedoms.
The Patriot Act is a blight on any free society and alone shows how government means to control what free people do and where free people go. The Northern Command was started by Bush as a means of enforcing civil law which cancels out Posse Comatose that has keep direct military control out of civil law.
When McCarthyism was rampant the public become cowards through the onslaught of propaganda proclaiming the Russians are coming, the Russians are coming yet the Russians did nothing but counter the scam arms buildup started by America.
Today the propagandists spread fear the same way McCarthy did only this time its the Islamic nations that are the evil empire with their evil religion that is used as the fear mongering tactic so politicians that have a great desire to become wannabe dictators can keep the public in a state of fear.
Americans are no longer the brave people that believe in human right, the rule of law, or any other constitutional guarantee that dictatorship will never reside on American soil. Americans have once become cowards that easily submit to control through fear mongering.

The political scientist who had the most impact and inspired reverence from the PNAC, was Leo Strauss, who believed the way to govern effectively was to bind the citizenry together against a common enemy. For years that was the Commies, but that went by the wayside. So, now we have Islam and the so-called "global war on terror." How very convenient.
The neocons in the Bush administration are out, but Obama is following in their footsteps with continued adventures in Iraq, stepped up activities in Afghanistan and bombing into Pakistan, as well as our private quarter-million man army of mercenaries in those locations; the for-profit private corporation soldiers.

I agree Spartan, I was drafted into the Vietnam war and what was that about? It certainly had nothing to do with any threat to America or its allies.
The control freaks and wannabe dictators have been given to much power thanks to the politically correct fools that think their party can do no wrong and the sheep that call them self free people.
People don't care Spartan. Its easy to sit back and wave flags in lip service to criminal activities. Most of America does not have the slightest idea what real violence is or why the suicide rate is so high in today's military.
Just think what good could be done with the money squandered on all this militarism and how big the contributions to society could have been made by the young troops that are killed in these corporate wars.
If we would have used our military budget, since WWII for industry, we could have doubled our manufacturing capacity as a nation. Certainly something is needed for defense, but spending more than all other nations of the world combined, and 85% more than the next largest nation defense spender, and maintaining 800+ military bases (most of which are not needed) is so bloated it's literally painful.

FDR froze all the company assets to stop the treason but the crime lords were never punished and when the assets were finally released in 1949 they went right back to the Bush gang.
The public was never well informed of the crimes and the same Bush traitor that supplied Hitler's war machine was elected a U.S. senator from Connecticut after the war.
We have not had anything to fear since WWII except from our own fear mongering war profiteering political hacks we call leaders.
Every "war" since WWII has been a political "War of Opportunity" instigated by whoever has been in the Oval Office. I also served in Vietnam and not once was I concerned about the North Vietnamese attacking California! Isn't it rather strange that during WWII we PROSECUTED war profiteers...and today we let them run the wars!
If people are not afraid, they would question the big spending on military. Keep them afraid and they will even agree to be spied on...
