My son sent me a quick time movie video. It is really cool and I wanted to upload it to gather, but it is too large. I just wanted to edit the end of the movie to make it smaller.
Can anyone help me with this?

I don't even know how to take video with my camera yet, let alone edit.
Poor Rob. Just put it on the mode that looks like film strip and hit your button to take a picture. When you are done taking the video hit the button again to stop it.
I would ask Kevin.
If you can save the video to your computer and if you have windows movie maker, I might be able to help you.
Can you edit it in the software that came with your camera?
My camera didn't come with software. And it is not my video but my sons.
I'd like to know the answer to this too
i also have a video that is too large i wish i knew also how to make it smaller
Seems like a lot of us would know the answer to this one. I too have a video I would like to load, but I want to cut off the end part.
MPEG Streamclip
Thanks I will look into that and see if I can figure it out.
I have no idea.
Upload it to Photobucket and you can edit it there very easily. The you can save it to your computer and/or copy the hmtl code to imbed it in an article here on Gather.
Nana, it is a video that he sent me. I didn't take it, can it still be edited on photobucket? I have it saved on my computer but it is too large for gather.
I'll e-mail you.
Thanks Nana!
Looks like Nana has the answer!
No idea
I don't know- but good luck
Download MPEG Streamclip, free video editing software. Convert the video to MPEG4 and adjust the slider at the top of the adjustment window to 20%. You won't lose video quality and can even adjust it to as low as 10%. Then convert it back to .mov format which is the Quicktime format. MPEG Streamclip comes with a complete guide under the Help Menu.
Thank you!

glad you got some good answers to your question. I was interested in the answers, too.
I really like how someone on Gather always has the answer to a question and knows just what to do! There are a lot of very knowledgable people here who are always willing to share their knowledge with others.......one of the reasons I love this site!
I know Sandra, there are some really good people here.
Sorry ,Carol ,I'm worse than Rob.
Carol,
Hopefully you have worked all of this out by now, but you might want to consider using Windows Movie Maker, which is likely a software package you already have installed on your computer (if you're a Windows user). It is free and fairly easy to use.
This link will take you to a listing of some posts that might be useful to you. They are a little dated, but should still provide all the information you need.
Good luck!

Thanks Kevin. I haven't tried it yet and I am going to work today so I will give it a try tonight or tomorrow. With all the good advice from my gather friends I will hopefully be able to post that video. I appreciate all the help everyone gave me. And Phil and Rob, I bet I could beat you out on Computer Illiteracy.
It looks like you got all kinds of answers. I learned about a new program through your post too, which is very cool.
Hope you have it fixed
