A Black Bear came to visit us today.

We put some bird seed out forthe squirresl and Chipmunksand the bear found it.

Tiffany wanted to pet him,but I wouldn't allow it.

He got a little scared here and we thought he was going to climb the tree.

He came back for more seed.

Wow! Quite a visit!
Thanks Kevin
Aren't you afraid of him? I would be scared for Tiffany to stand that close to a bear. But, I am glad that you were close enough to get pictures for us to see. He is cute.
He's just a baby
But you don't know where Momma bear was hiding!
Wow! Amazing to see.
Thanks Tory
WOW, Elaine that is so cool!!! We have bears around here but I've never seen one. Thank goodness cause I am out in the woods with the doggies all the time! Very cool.
The dogs will keep the bears away,so if you want to see one you'll have to leave them home.
You just never know who's gonna come see you Elaine. Wow, pretty scary I would think. Any pics of the squirrels and chipmunks? I guess not with the bear around.
One chipmunk came out after the bear left.
Chipmunks are so cute! I hope the bear left him some food.
Oh Elaine, I'm so envious of your beautiful photos. We were likey enough to have a few sightings but I never did get a photo. We saw them mostly at night too, never anything this good. I just love these and can't wait to show DH. Good thing there wasn't a Mama bear around.
We kept looking for Mama we never seen her,but something made him look into the woods and that's when he left.We think maybe she called him.
oh man. I would be scared to see a black bear in my yard.
He's just a baby
Wow is that you really close to that bear?? Be careful!! Hes a cutie though!
Yea we were close.
Wow, I would have ran to the house. LOL
Then you have missed the picture.
so cute!!!!
Thanks April
I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures.
Wow that is amazing! Great essay but be careful!!
We're always careful with wildlife.
Wow, Elaine, that is sooooo amazing! What an adorable bear and such gorgeous photos! That must have been quite an experience!!!!
It was a Wonderful thing to experience.
I can't believe she got that close, that would have me running for the house and locking the door.
City people react differently to seeing these things. You are more comfortable and knowledgeable about being around wild animals.
You're right about that Helen
What a cute photo. He wouldn't make me nervous but wondering where Momma is just might!
We watched for the Momma but I think he must be old enough to be on his own because she was nowhere to be seen.
Those are some amazing shots. He may be cute, but he can be dangerous. I wonder where his mother is?
Thanks Marian,I think he must be old enogh to be on his own, because the mother could not be found.
I have read/heard a lot about young bears losing their way in PA recently, and ending up in backyards and I think I remember somewhere near Harrisburg one ended up right in town!
What an amazing site to see. Hopefully momma was nearby or he can find her.
Thanks Alex,It was an amzing sight to see.
Aw...so cute!
Thanks Cheryl
Thanks so much for sharing this with my group.
Awesome photos, Elaine!
Thanks Marianne
Wow! Looks like a young one. Be glad mama wasn't around. Tiffany got way too close.
Amazing pics! Wow, it's incredible to see a black bear right in your own backyard.
great job "capturing" the baby!!! your rhodies are beautiful, too!!
absolutely awesome pics!!
it might have petted back a little harder
Hi Elaine, the computer finally let me into your site. That is awesome, but there is a big momma bear around somewhere that will get angry. Love your photo essay.
Off to view the photos now.
those are amazing pics
You got some great pictures of him, Elaine!
They are everywhere.... Great shots!
That is quite the visitor - wow - I would probably pee my pants if I saw that near my house!
And I thought having Geese around the corner was thrilling. What great shots.
My neighbor you lives a mile away across the pasture. Had a bear in their trash. But I have never seen one here. But our trash cans get turned over at night some times. So you never know what is roaming around at night. Our dog sleeps in the house with us. Great shots. He is just a baby. So cute. Thanks Elaine.
Oh how cool to have deer and bears all the time on your property.
GREAT JOB. I HOPE IT DON'T COME SEE US
yeah i couldn't get that close..great pics though
Wonderful pictures Elaine! My hubby and I thought maybe he was young! Very cool!
What a great series of photos!
What a unique guest! :-)
I'm glad he got scared and went away. That is a good sign. We are not safe for bear and good that he learns to be wary of us.
Great shots. My dogs would have been barking up a storm.
good photo essay
You know Mama has to be close by. Right?? Plezzzz be careful. Scary.
Great photos
He is a hungry boo boo bear
Your photos are awesome. You wouldn't get me to stand that close to a baby - the mean momma must have been near.
I would have been so excited if we had had a visit.
Oh my goodness! I would have loved to have been that close to it.
We were at Yosemite last summer and we ended up in an area with very little traffic and hardly any folks out there. When we were walking up the trails we saw a cub. The kids tried to chase it but we quickly stopped them because if you see a cub then momma has to be somewhere near by too.
Hi Everybody,Thanks so much for stopping by and for the great comments you left for me.
