Jewel had her babies late last night or early this morning. When I checked at 8 before I left this morning they were nursing. There are 3 boys and 1 girl. They seem to be much darker than I expected. Mom is albino and dad is also light (though not albino). It will be interesting to see what colors they turn out to be. I'll try to post updates at least once a week.

They're sweet, and jewel has such a cute little face :-) how did you end up with a hedhog as a pet? do you have to be careful when you pet them?
When I was in college, I had a friend that owned a pet store. She got me my first pair. After they passed away, I didn't have any for awhile. I decided to get more a few years ago. You have to make sure you go with the quills when you pet them.

They are quiet and stay in one place (a cage), but not very snuggly.

Oh my. I guess I'm not the average viewer.....I think they look like bugs....yuck. The mom is interesting looking too. There are just some things that only a mother could love .... (LOL) How long does it take them to begin to look like a regular porcupines? I do think that regular porcupines are pretty.
After about 2 weeks they start to look like little adults.
