I sent DH to the store for a couple items Friday on his way home for the office. One of the things on my list was Tropicana OJ. The kids like the pulp free. Normally I buy the OJ with extra calcium added. DH is not much for details so he came home with Tropicana pulp free Healthy Heart with Omega 3. Well, at least I didn't have to drive into town right? And I mentally gave him points for remembering the correct brand and buying pulp free.
BUT....Out of habit I flipped the carton around and proceeded to read the ingredients. And guess how they got that Omega 3 in there? Just guess....I never would have thought it in a million years.
FISH OIL! And in small print "contains anchovie and sardines!"
DS, age 10, is deathly allergic to fish. Thank god I habitually check labels, right? Really who would have thought that FISH is in Orange Juice! And some people think I'm crazy to read every label of food/drink items. Just goes to show you, you can never tell what is in a product. Sometimes the label can really surprise you!
