This three-part BBC Documentary gives a lot more reasoning to the Gospels and the tales of the New Testament. These are historical arguments, a more realistic explanation of what really happened, with the knowledge we have today of medical conditions and treatments. OK, thanks to Gerald Brewster I have the entire hour long documentary, fascinating and I will put it here if you so choose to watch with more information.

I watched this when I went to your YouTube page to see the Canned Heat videos, and will definitely be looking to buy the DVD from BBC soon! This is something of which I've been aware for many years, but seems to be a bit hushed up here in the west. I guess some people fear it might invalidate Christianity somewhat. I do not. To me, it strengthens and validates the historical aspect and fills in many of the blanks. The power of the teachings of Jesus are in no way diminished by altering the finality of his crucifixion. I'm ALL FOR the idea that he might have survived it to continue his work elsewhere--his teachings do not contradict Eastern teachings whatsoever.
Yes gerald, I hope you watched part three, it explainsates his existence far better than the fairy tales Christian's have woven throughout the centuries. It doesn't mean Jesus wasn't a learned teacher, but lightning was some hokey pokey type of mumbo jumbo to people back then, with time has come science and knowledge to explain all the fanciful stuff.
Actually, I believe I watched 4 parts, if I'm not mistaken.
Perhaps not--maybe it was wishful thinking, but as I said before, I intend to buy the entire program on BBC DVD--I'm just sorry they don't seem to have it on Blu-ray.
The only DVDs from BBC I can find so far are:
"Jesus: The Complete Story"
and
"The Miracles of Jesus"
But I'm going to keep looking
Try going through Google/UK and Yahoo/UK even e bay has a UK chapter, Gordon would buy/sell his ogauge trains there!
I have added the third part, and I implore all to take the few minutes to view the series in it's entirity.
This is an interesting comment from someone India on the videos on You Tube:
Dhonigk (1 week ago) I am a Kashmiri and I have heard lot of stories from my Grandparents about the legend that people of Kashmir are ancient Isrealis. We have very distict physical features as compared to rest of the indians. And also some of the names are hebrew like eh Lavi (Levi) etc. Some cities and villages are named after the Jewish tribes. There is a place called Samaryah which is Samaria. Mamre is Mamre, Pishgah is Pisgah, Nabudaal is Mt. Nevo, Bushan is Bashan, Gilgit is Gilgal, Heshba is Heshbon etc."
Wow, that was sooooo interesting. I wish I could see the whole documentary. Thanks for posting these!
I imagine more parts may be on You Tube, but I thought I had them all...
it's interesting...not that I liked seeing people being nailed to a cross in the first one...ouch!
OK, Georgie, I found the entire one-hour program on Google Videos, but not on DVD. You can watch it here:
BBC Documentary ~ DID JESUS DIE ON THE CROSS?
Georgiana, there are still fundamentalists who will close their eyes, they like the old story
I know Sunaura, but you see something like 38 views and no comments amy have left them speechless! LOL
It was your original one you posted on the Crucifixion that got me interested in this, now I have to get Psychedelic Graffiti out and listen to Kashmir!
To me, if this alternate history IS true, it takes nothing of validity away from the power of Jesus' teachings, but provides somewhat of a relief that such an important life wasn't so abruptly snuffed out after only 30-some years, but was allowed to continue well into old age! I certainly HOPE it is true!
Yes, and wouldn't it be a hoot to exhume the body and get some DNA?!!!!
I seriously doubt if the blocals are going to let that happen!
Did you see the link I provided above to the entire BBC program on Google Video?
Only because the Islam guy is burind on top of him!
i think that in itself is a great lesson, Christ resting underneath the body of an Islam leader!
Yes, I am getting ready to watch the whole thing. Isn't it possible to burn a DVD of a video from google or You Tube? By the way, thanks for finding that!
Yes, I could do it, but the picture is not so good as the DVD would have been. I think they just published the TV program, but didn't release it on DVD.
Wow! I just watched the entire thing, a lot of the same as in the three exerpts I posted, but this one has a lot more information and shows the cultish evangelicals in Toronto and all. my, my! I have chills, this is the definative story and I am so glad intellectual theologians have substanciated it! Thanks Gerald!
This story has a realistic effect.
The BBC does it's research. It is certainly more real in this time and place. Explains a lot.
Thanks for posting this to GutterGirls~

Yes, of course!
this post is now featured at undeniably late night!!! thanx!!!
peace =)
Yes, the true Jesus, the historical one has more wonders than the writers of the Gospel tried to convey so many centuries after his death, disappearance and so forth.
thanks for sharing
When anything about any religious faith is shown, my first thought is, 'What's the hidden agenda?' I would like to see this, but first I want to know the background of the research team.
Bill, how's the BBC?!
Which is sanctioned by the Church of England by the way, and the agenda? Well, discovery of new information it would seem.
i'm no longer sure that Jesus even WAS. -as far as revelatory films go: "Zeitgeist".
there's also "Zeitgeist: the Addendum".
i believe there's a website.
Well, I think there was, historically a guy called Jesus, or the aramaic version of that name. But like the videos say, he was chosen to be a teacher and went back to Kashmir. Zeitgeist is great!
Georgiana ~ This is another interesting post that you have that I hope that you've shared over in . . .
PROPHETIC PULSE ~ A Paradigm Shift. The Group members over there will love this.
