I just had a garage sale Thurs, Fri, Sat and Sun. Thursday was the best day, we made over a $100! Fri, Sat and Sun, which I thought we would make more, were slow days. Total through out the whole sale, we made close to $170. Thursday paid for Sasha's vet visit to get her shots and license. The girls made over $25 each, so who knows what they will buy. I know I recommended Audrey to get stuff for Steveo, such things like diapers and clothing.
Everything that I have left over I am donating to an organization in my city that helps lower income people to pay for their animals to get spayed or neutered. They use the stuff that people donate in their garage sale to help with expenses. All the baby stuff I had left over is going to go to a resale shop for children, hopefully they will trade my stuff for other baby items that Steveo can use.
So has anyone here have had a garage sale before? Good experiences or bad?
The only thing I hated about it is the slow times and packing everything up afterwards.

I haven't done a yard sale, my town is just too small to make it worthwhile.
my mom lives in a small town, she has made $50 in one day before. ad in the paper helps. and if you get more than just one famliy together and have all kinds of stuff, it helps too!
Not in my town. Garage sales suck here.
I have always had good experiences with yard sales. Love to have them, love to go to them....I dont have the time these days to do either but I do enjoy them.
I only had time for mine because I took two vacation days, so I know where you are coming from.
Our last couple of garage sales made nothing...maybe a total of $5. We've not had one in a LONG time.
bummer.
We live in the country. No luck for yard sales! LOL! I hate the country!!! :(
yeah, not too many people go into the country to garage sale.
i have not had one in years, but i think it was good, i was still a teen and i remember people pounding on the door at 8 for my dad to open it up..
heck Anne, you got kids, don't they grow out of their clothes. people love buying kids clothes!
haven't really been to any garage sales this year to buy anything.
either have I Larry. I actually went to my first one yesterday, bought a little car for my foster grandbaby for a quarter.
Been years since I had one. Out here in the country is not a good location.
if you know someone in town, you should get together and have one there.
I personally have not had one, but have helped out with many. They can be long and boring at times, but hey extra money, is extra money.
love the extra money for stuff I don't want and need
Years ago we had yard sales. Now we give our stuff away because we can't risk someone coming near me with a cigarette.
sorry to hear.
too bad you didn't know someone that is throwing one, you could ask them to put a few things in theirs.
That's great. I need to do one but never have the patience, so I end up giving the stuff away. LOL
have it on a Thursday! you would be busy and the time goes by fast!
I'm glad your garage sale was profitable. We haven't had a yard sale in years. It was a lot of work the last time we did and we really didn't make all that much money. Mostly what sold was baby stuff.
that is what a lot of our sale was, Steveo's stuff he no longer needed.
Another recommendation on left over garage sale items is freecycle.org I see it all the time on there you can even say take all PN
Yeah, we have freecycle around here.
Mine was the best this year because a couple of streets over they had a street sale so that brought in lots of people. My son listed some big items on Craigslist so that helped us sell the bunkbed and bike and a tent. Like you I hate packing it up and I still have to load it and drop it by Goodwill sometime today.
yeah, mine leftover suff is still in the driveway. Lol.
I need to make a call to get this stuff picked up.
I used to do one every weekend when beanie babies were hot. I made so much money:)
