Virtual Reality Is, Minute by Minute, Taking upon itself, a new form- Literally & Figuratively, and changing the realms within which we work. My usual desktop for example is decidely Mac-like, a moment in the history of the Apple's, frozen in time. I can no longer recall when it first appeared so many years ago. It was a 'one-shot' ad, to the best of my knowledge, and except on my desktop, I have never seen it again.
Does anyone recall exactly when that was ?
On the otherhand, after I have worked several hours at a time ( I write 'at the keyboard, more or less spontaneously, in a stream-of-consciousness style. Albeit after days and days of research, primarily using Google ) After hours of working, I pull up a photo from Marco Arment originally posted a few weeks ago on Tumblr, and hit 'Full Screen + Slideshow'. Voila !! Although we are generally 325 miles apart- We eat and sip coffee in the 'same space'.
In 1982 I had visions of a similar nature, a shared virtual environment within which groups of us could work & play, spend time with one another ...
