A woman gardening in Australia somehow had a leech attach itself to her eyeball. She went to the emergency room as she could not get the leech to release her eyeball. By the time she had reached the doctor the leech had grown three times its original size from gorging itself on her eye's blood vessel.
I see a horror film in the making. Yucky!
Moral: Don't garden in Australia without gardening goggles.
No, I didn't make this up.

Damn leeches! I'll bet they could suck blood from a turnip. Poor woman.
Did she lose her eyeball?
A shiver ran of my span as I read this.
How was this even possible? I could see it happening if she was swimming in the water, but not gardening. I can only hope she still has her vision.
