I wasn't going to post these photos because they didn't turn out well. In fact they are terrible and I need to get out the manual for the camera and see what went wrong.
Anyway, last Sunday we had a doe actually have her fawn less than 50 feet from our house. I could barely see the fawn through the tall grass but when we did get a glimpse we could see those cute wobbly legs. Well she's staying fairly close and we see them everyday. It's been a joy to watch and I hope they keep coming back.

Last night we were sitting in the living room when I saw movement out the window and sure enough we have a curious little black bear wandering around. He wasn't the least bit intimidated by us. We don't have any feeders out for the deer or the birds so it was slim pickins for him around here. Not sure if he will come back by or look for greener pastures!

Again sorry for the poor photo quality. Maybe I will have better luck next time.
All but two of the bear were taken through the window but I have done that before and they turned out. Both of the deer photos were also taken through the window.

Those are nice.
wow!
ok deer I can handle yet a bear oh my
It must be amazing to live so close to wildlife.
We have deer in our area too, where I live is like a preserve. The deer are out at night usually near one of the gates. They are smaller in Florida as opposed to up North.
I have not seen a bear here. That would scare me. It is amazing you got so close to one.
We have alligators in the waterways, but that doesn't worry me. My neighbor the next block over had one in her kitchen and the 911 call was in the news as they told her, "Are you sure it is not an iguana?" Yeah, a ten foot iguana, NOT.
I think the alligators get enough small animals to avoid wandering the neighborhood too far. This ladys home had a waterway behind it.
All I know is I keep a good eye on the cat.
what a wonderful site to see!
I just checked your profile to see where you live. But where in Minnisota do you see bear right in your backyard?
I live in Michigan. Deer are in our backyard every day, especially after 4 p.m. I think they mostly sleep in the woods during the day. But when they're out, we have four to ten in our backyard at a time.
It's hard to get a good picture of the deer because if they see us move, they run away. Our family room has an oversized window wall, and we keep the blinds completely away from the window so we can watch wildlife better. The only way to get a picture is from the inside through that window. So I try to remember to keep it as clean as possible all the time.
A week or two ago, although I didn't actually see a fawn being born, I saw it right after, teetering on its little, skinny legs. It was barely bigger than our cat!
Our home is about 45 minutes West of Minneapolis and we do have bear there but I am in Wisconsin right now and that is where these photos were taken. Actually Northern Wisconsin on the South shore of Lake Superior.
That's quite a visitor!
in action pictures are always difficult to get as these were. However you did get them and that is a lot better than not getting them.
Thanks for posting them, they actually are just fine
Must have been exciting to see!
Some neat shots.
