We fail and fall flat on our face, that's how we learn. Only dead people don't make mistakes.
If you're not making mistakes then you aren't learning.
There is a definite risk/reward to what most of us do in the choices that we take in our employment as well as our investments.
Many other people from other countries don't want the risk levels that we in the United States do without even thinking about. Risk taking is ingrained in us as a people. We as a people need no guarantees, a good example of that is the long pass in a football game, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't work. However, we know that if we don't try we wont win.
That about sums it all up

Did you actually have a point here?
Nope!
It's just the way we are Chuck
Actually I think the opposite is true. People from other countries are more willing to take far greater risks than most people in the US. It is far more common in other countries to move across the globe for work, education, etc. There is more and more the thought here that risks be taken out of our existence and if something does not go as planned we should be bailed out or reimbursed.
