David Carradine's death yesterday was at first reported as a likely suicide. You can read more about that in this article. But the story today is that it could have been murder. The former actor's personal co-manager has said that Carradine never called a suicide hotline, never showed any suicidal tendencies and perhaps the clincher - was found in a upright sitting position on a bureau in the closet with the rope around his neck. Probably a difficult way to hang yourself? However, authorities in Bangkok say there didn't appear to be any forced entry to his hotel room, no assault or obvious crime in the room. The autopsy is currently being performed now so we'll know soon enough.
But, what do you think? Was it suicide or was Carradine murdered? Share your opinion.

I hope they figure it out for his family's sake
I don't know if he was murdered, but it sounds like he had an unusual sexual fetish. He was found with the rope tied around his neck and genitals.
Woa! Liz, where'd you read that? Crazy. I did read about the possibility that he was playing the "choking game"
I heard on the local news that the rope was tied around his neck and "various other parts of his body". Then they said that it might have been a sexual thing gone bad.
I think if it was around his neck and other parts, there probably had to be someone else in the room with him.
I'm going to assume he did the asphyxiation thing on his own to get himself off and there was no one else in the room.
On the plus side, it's good to know that he wasn't feeling depressed enough to kill himself...that day. And he was feeling really, really good in his last moments. But what an embarrassing way to be found - he'll forever be remembered for that moment.
I don't know, but Bangkok has a long history of being the place to be if you're into freaky sex. I'll wait on the reports before making up my mind.
CNN said he was hanging by a nylon rope, had a yellow rope around his neck, and a black rope around his genitals. His friends and family say he was not suicidal. His manager said Carradine's career was on a roll and that he did not want to interfere in an investigation but that this might not have been an accident. There is an interview on Larry King from last night and some more information on CNN.
Personally, I can't help thinking that these Americans that go to Thailand get into trouble with some of their questionable erotic adventures sometimes that the Thais do not appreciate. Just a guess, but it is unlikely that he was suicidal.
Who knows. We will probably never know exactly what happened, and is it really any of our business? I know people are curious. I choose to remember the fine actor he was.
Besides the rope around his neck and lower parts, I have to wonder how he could have tied his hands behind his own back if this was a suicide or even an accident. Seems more like foul play to me.
Seems pretty clear that it was a case of auto-erotic asphyxiation gone bad. He probably had a Thai hooker help with the ropes (a "tie hooker"?) but I'm betting it was an accident.
Of course, I don't truly know David Carradine. But, from listening to him as he was interviewed, suicide doesn't seem to be something that he would do. This is a very curious death.
I read a little about this, I didnt read anywhere where a person performing auto-erotic asphyxiation would tie a rope around their genitals. To get the desired affect, they would tie a rope or use another device around their neck to cut off the oxygen to their brain. Tieing the genitals sounds more like a bondage thing to me that probably would have been done by another person especially since it was stated his hands were also tied behind his back. I can think of two possibilities, one someone bound him like this and than as he was under submission tried to achieve erotic asphyxiation for him. It could have been hooker or a woman. Two is someone got him into this position and than decided to kill him. It definitley wasnt suicide and it doesnt appear to be an act he could have done alone. Someone might have wanted people to think it was self inflicted. It's hard to imagine a 72 year old man going to all this trouble for self pleasure. There seems to be indeed a lot more to this than anyone knows at this point!
Murdered, HE WAS MURDERED! NO DOUBT! Martial arts and the hidden mysteries played the key part and motive, as it did in the same styled murder of Bruce Lee in Thailand. Bruce Lee was the first actor to be chosen and slated to star in the television series Kung Fu. No coincidence that this connection of the martial arts and its deep mystical mystery's resulted in this black art's murder. The secrets of the east are so very arcane and esoteric to the western mind that its hard to for us to get our arms around it!!!
