I've just read several articles about school being out today for many children and now I'm adding my article to the list.
I too will be baby sitting four children this weekend. My grand daughter who is also a school teacher had to go out of town for three days and needed a babysitter for my great grand children (three of them), her usual baby sitter ran into problems and couldn't keep the children so I was drafted. Woo Hoo. The fourth child is a friend of theirs who is also going out of town and was going to be staying with the now absent baby sitter and I now have the additional child as well. I have to pick three of them up at school at 12:15. The youngest is 4, then 6, and two 8 year olds. They are all good kids and mind really well so I think it will be a nice weekend. We'll see if I'm still sane by late Sunday night....LOL!

Have fun watching all of those children.
I have a lot of activities planned to keep them all busy, so it should'nt be too stressful.
you will enjoy them so much have a great weekend and if we dont see a post by midnite we will call the marines to dig up your gardens to find you lol

yeah, better do the I'm alive post LOL School has been out here since May 20. It's been insane to have the grandkids home all day. This past week they spent a few nights at their dad's while mom was having the baby.....and my 12 yr old has been gone for the week to Bible camp. I pick her up this evening, but take her back Sunday for another week of camp

I never lived that close to my grandchildren to give any daily or frequent care. I love going to visit or having them come for a few days. Now they are all grown up enough that no sitters are needed.
It will be busy but you're sure to have a great time. Enjoy the weekend!

I'm finally in my home again. It was an interesting weekend. Can't say that I want to do it every weekend, but every once in a while reminds me that God gives children to young people for a reason. LOL They were all wonderful kids and all went well.

Keeping them busy with the activities you have planned will go a long way in preserving your sanity. I have my two grandsons every weekend. The two year old can be a challenge because he has a very short attention span. He is into everything.
Hi Linda. Activities are wonderful. Today it's McDonalds for lunch then the movie "UP" and I think by then they will be ready to come home and collapse, I hope so anyway. They have been wanting to ride their bikes out in the street but I won't let them. My grand daughter lives in a very slow neighborhood and all the kids seem to be doing this, but I' don't want them getting run over on my watch --- eh, or anyone elses watch either --- the four year old cried for his mother last night, so I rocked him until he fell asleep. They are all still asleep, but it won't last long and then our day begins again.
Lee, all I can say is that you are a granny god send!!! Hope you have a great time with the kiddies and know that they will remember this when they get older!

You Will Survive!!! I hope. Ha, Ha, Ha Time spent with your grand children will be special for you and the children in more ways than one. Better Grandmother to watch them than a sitter anytime. I trusted my mom before I looked for a sitter when my sons were little. My mom treasures those memories. My mom wishes she had grandchildren to enjoy. It will be awhile though as my sons are in their twenties and no serious relationships are in the works presently.
How special----You are a Great Grandmother with Great Grandchildren. Wow!!! I hope I am so forturnate. I'm crazy about kids and wish I had Grandchildren.
Woo Hoo. Grand children will appear in you life because those boys of yours won't stay single for long. They never do. God designed families and it usually happens about the middle twenties to early thirties.
