It has been raining off and on for hours, and I've heard some very loud thunder. This was the third or fourth wave of the day...
It was coming out of the east, for some reason, and this was the view just south of us.

Just over an hour later, it looked brighter, and I suspected a rainbow might await.I grabbed my camera and went to investigate.

I was not disappointed, though it only lasted for a moment. It was lovely while it did.
And now..? Now, the sun is shining and the rain is coming down in sheets.
Welcome to Central Florida... Enjoy the rainbows while they last!

You always manage to find the rainbow in amongst the clouds.
I don't always manage, but I'm always looking; that's for sure. :)
You seem to get a lot of rainbows. Great photo essay.
Thanks, Marge. I had to find the bright spot today. It's been pretty ugly, up until then.
Yes, the weather is certainly tricky in Florida. We have not had rain for two days....very strange....I just hope it will be like this next Tues-Wed, when we go to Key Largo.
I hope so too, J! Sure would make the Keys more fun!
Love the rainbow shot!
It's rained here for most of the day too. We needed it tho.
My husband is in Marietta, Marianne, and has been complaining to me about it all day.
The weather changes so fast.. I love the picture of your rainbows
Thanks, Beth. It has been somewhat dramatic lately!
I'm glad you had a glimpse of a rainbow. They always make my day, but it's been dry lately and haven't seen one in awhile.
Sherrie, I make it a point, when weather does not bring rainbows, to find them elsewhere. I took a shot of one the other day, on the ceiling of my family room, and I have no idea what put it there...
Thanks for posting this to Rainbow Connections - Colorful Competitions!
Our weather couldn't make up its mind today.
We have a lot of those days, Mary.
Nice!
Thanks, Carol.
Wonderful pictures. They resemble the skyin Kolkata, right now.
Beach of passionate storms
Makes me want to see Kolkata, Kushal.
Pretty rainbow I am so tired of rain
We had rain for thirteen days, a couple of weeks ago, Renee. I got really sick of it, too!
your rainbow looks cool - but I like the storm clouds too!
Actually, Cristina, I love the drama of the storm clouds we get here, and the contrast between light and dark. Did you happen to see my clouds albums?
must go look them up!
If you want to look them up, they are my "silver lining" slideshows. I was pretty impressed, but more so by the clouds than my photos.
I loved the storms we had during my one week in Florida ...but sounds like you've had more than enough this week
I'm tired of it, flit, but I do love the depth of the greens in the foliage.
It's been raining in Jersey for 3 days now. It rained last week for 4 days in a row. Can't it just rain 1 day at a time?? grrrr
I think that only happens in Eden, Cindy. :) I grew up in South Dakota, though and we get a whole South Dakota year's worth of rain in a week here, sometimes. So maybe that's the place to be? (Not really... love the place, glad to be from there but don't want to go back!)
It's been raining here off and on since Saturday. It's really cold here today too.
Beautiful!! Those clouds sure did look ominous.
It finally rained 2 inches here, we were nearing a drought at critical seed-sprouting time.
What a beautiful rainbow! That's a happy spot in an otherwise cloudy day for sure! The sky sure got dark!
Rainbows are a pure pleasure indeed. We just had two bad storms come through yesterday, they were about a hour or so apart. It was really strange. The first brought thunder and lightening along with buckets of rain which didn't last very long. The second just rain. I guess we could use it after all with the dry weather we have here in the summer...
Cheryl, I was on the phone with my sister yesterday afternoon as one of those storms of yours was moving in. Did you get a rainbow after?
I don't recall as I was at work up on the hill at the time.
