well its a super nice sunny day out today... and dont have anything to do lol. so i need some ideas and just want to know..... what your favorite thing to do in the summer?
i love to go to the ocean. We live about 25mins or so from the beach and we try to go as often as possible. I also like about 8mins from the zoo and a park lol so there are lots of things to do.
Here I am, in Florida, less than an hour from some very pretty beaches and I have to admit, I am NOT a beach person. I do not lay out in the sun as I have very sensitive skin, (plus skin cancer is not high on my list of wants), I really do not like to swim in the ocean water, as it is dirty and sticky. And the sand is so messy.
I do enjoy taking walks on the beach and looking for shells and listening to the waves crash against the shore. That is nice and peaceful.
I love going to nature parks where the flora and fauna abounds. The woodsy smells are wonderful to behold.
The problem with summer here in Florida is that it is so damn hot, sometimes it is unbearable. Yesterday, June 22, it was 96 degrees with a heat index of 105 and a humidity of 85%. It felt like a a sauna. And this is JUST June.
It is now 6:35 AM. The temperature is already 82 degrees with a heat index of 95 degrees...and the sun isn't even up yet. And I have to mow my lawn this morning before I take my nap in order for me to work tonight.
So, my point is, my favorite thing to do in summer is stay indoors in the AC...LOL

go to the beach or sit by the pool and read

I love to go swimming as I am a very active person. My hubby and I can not stand to sit still. We go all over, the lake-zoo-theme parks. Everything!!!
I like to take my camera and go for a walk and enjoy and take phots of the beauty around me.
Relax and read a book.
Just being outside! I love it. I hate being cooped up.

sit in my pool hubby and son in law will be putting it up next week,, been too cool /busy untill this week
Visit my grandkids up north and when I am home, lounge in my pool.
