Poet and memoirist Janet Riehl is on a blog book tour for her new audiobook Sightlines and she has dropped into our Women's Memoirs site to share some thoughts on the story poem. I encourage you to read what she has to say as she offers an interesting perspective on the memoir genre, which just may expand your thinking.
Sightlines, the audiobook, is an extension of her 2006 memoir Sightlines: A Poet's Diary. With the help of family and friends, Janet has added original music and included personal remembrances for a sister lost. It's very moving and most definitely pushes the envelope on the memoir genre.
Matilda Butler and I will be interviewing Janet on June 11th (also as part of her blog book tour). We invite you to listen live. It's free and you'll find the details on Women's Memoirs. And if you'll leave a question for Janet (as a COMMENT at the end of her blog post) we'll make sure Janet answers you.
Finally, Janet is running a contest to win a free copy of her audiobook. You'll find details at the bottom of her post on Women's Memoirs...after her great writing prompt.
Hope to "see" you on the June 11th call.
