To Do:
Pack the girls
Pack myself
Start rounding up toiletry items
Bake some cookies for the neighbor
Set the tent up- let it air out, and get some more practice doing it.
Set the canopy up
Both those last two will be done when Raegan gets here, so that she can help, since she's the help I'll have when we get to the campground.
Things Done:
Chris is packed
Talked to the neighbor, he'll look at the van today
So, things are coming along, slowly but surely. I also want to get a treat of some sort to take into Gilly's class this week.
If I can tackle all the items we need packed today for clothing, and toiletries, then that'll be a nice head start. I should also get some coolers out of the basement, wash them out, and let them air out. Then, I'll have bedding to pack, but that'll wait a few more days. Also, kitchen items, and some food. I have 1 reusable grocery bag that I filled with snacks. I have some yogo's, fruit snacks, crackers, and cookies in it, all stuff we had here that wasn't open yet.
I have cereal, pancake mix (I purposely got one of the kinds where you add water and shake it), and syrup still. Aside from that, and drink packet mixes (I've got some South Beach & Crystal Light for me, and some Lemonade and Hawaiian Punch for the kids), I'll be buying our groceries when we get there.
My grocery list so far for when we get there:
Hot Dogs
Buns
Tin Foil
Eggs
Sausage
Lunch Meat
Bread
Cheese
Peanut Butter & Jelly
Marshmallows
Graham Crackers
2 Gallons of water (To drink, but also so I have water jugs to fill at the camp ground when I need water)
Hershey's Bars
Fruit
I did a search, and there is a DQ right in Mackinaw City, so the gift card I got from Gilly's teacher will be saved and used there.
I have $20 cash and a check for $20 to get put in the bank, too.
The van will be fixed probably today. The hole that the bolt is screwed into, which is grounding the electrical wire, which is causing the shorting, and dying, is stripped. The neighbor is going to use a drill to punch a new hole, so it'll be a free fix.
I have to finish getting things ready for the yard sale. I am determined to have it on Saturday, but feel unprepared, even though I really am not.
Sunday we go up to po-dunk Mount Pleasant to do a family bbq. I'm supposed to go to a wedding shower on Saturday in GR, and a baby shower on Tuesday in GR. I need to miss both of them, though. I just can't make it over there. I need to get a card in the mail for the baby shower. The bridal shower, my step mom is supposed to attend, but might not. Either way, she'll send a gift from both of us.
Speaking of which- my step-mom is in the hospital again. She has been in since last week Thursday. She's been retaining water to the point of pain, and her blood pressure is 20 points below normal, and she normally runs low. Because it's so low, they can't give her the meds for the water gain, because they cause a drop in blood pressure.
She's been in there since Thursday, and they've been giving her meds for the pain, and for the blood pressure, but have only gotten it up a few points over all. Today, they were going to do cortisone to see if that'll help raise it. Once it's raised to a safe level, they can tackle the water retention.
So, that's what's going on today. Hopefully, I can get a lot of stuff done yet.

Busy day, busy week.
You do sound busy. I take water pills, along with my blood pressure medicines. It is awful to have water retention build up that bad...I hope your step mother gets better soon. What a predictament she is in...
Won't it feel nice when your list is all done?
You're making pretty good progress! I know I always relax better when I have a list and a plan!
Hopefully your MIL is doing better!
Good luck getting it all done soon. I hate packing almost as much as I hate unpacking.
hope your MIL is feeling better
Pack the girls!?! What are you packing them in? Boxes? Totes? What would work best? I guess that would depend on their age/size. Pack them together? Or seperate? Are they prone to fighting? Oh! And dont forget the airholes!
I was thinking bubble wrap, to make sure they don't get broken. ;)
I am sorry your MIL is in the hospital..do they know WHY she is reatinging water? I am experiencing a similar situtation..legs, feet, ankles sweeling terribly by the end of the day and I am also prone to low blood pressure. I called to get a Dr appt..I cannot get in until July 9th! Isn't that ridiculous?
She was having bad liver problems a few weeks ago, where her liver was almost shutting down. Almost immediatly after she was released from the hospital with that, she started retaining water. Her stomach was rock hard from it, and she could barely walk, her feet and toes hurt so bad from it.
You'll get it all done. I hope your MIL gets better soon.
The girls are packed...check! I hope you put them in seperate suitcase so they won't be fighting. Don't forget to tie Chris tight to the roof of the car. Since you'll be packed away in the trunk...Nick...you do have the directions, don't you, dear?
I was thinking of attaching Chris to a retractable kite string, so he could fly behind us ;)
What a busy person you are! Hope all goes well with your yard sale. And that your MIL is feeling better soon. Have a great time on your trip.
I wish I was making cookies today. I need to go grocery shopping too.
Looks like you're gonna have your hands full today. Good luck.
You're very busy.
Don't forget milk! =)
sounds like a busy day
I hope your step-mom will be ok!
It sounds like you have been getting a lot done!
