As I mentioned in my last post I am getting all my ducks in a row concerning my health. Well today I started with my teeth. I managed to get in to see an oral surgeon and he and I agreed that pulling all my teeth was a good idea. So I have an appointment on the 25th to have it done. I hate the idea of losing my teeth. I really really do, but I hate the reoccuring pain I have to deal with on a regular basis.
On the plus side, he gave me stronger pain pills, is going to work with my insurance to make sure that everything can be covered, and didnt talk down to me about my poor care of my teeth which I really appreciated! Very nice guy!
So I am going to get the teeth done first and from there I am heading to the doctors. I may actually do that next week because of my blood pressure. Usually it is very normal but today at the dentist it was 177/96 and later it was 201/86 so I think I need to look into BP meds. Guess we'll see.
I have to say since finding out that my mouth will be pain free later this month I have been in the best mood I have been in, in over a week. Of course that might be due to stronger meds to..lol.
I heading out for a nap! Have a great evening!

Glad you found an oral surgeon who did not put you down. I hate when dentists give you hell for neglecting your teeth. Will you be able to get dentures right away or do your gums have to heal first. I am interested in this process.
Im not really sure since I am going to two dentists. one for the surgery and then later i will have molds made and dentures from that. Sadly dentures are covered by my insurance so I will have to eat with my gums for a while. As long as i am not in pain I dont mind though
I have horrible teeth, and am leaning towards the same goal, with the hope of saving some of the front teeth. :( I had horrible dental hygein, coupled with horrible dental genes.
I hope your insurance will work with you. That's what scares me- the cost!
my teeth are falling apart as well. how many do you have to have pulled?
Total of 17
I luckily came up with the money to do a root canal on 1, but, it's really expensive to crown and root canal everything,
you can have implants later, is it possible to save any of them?
It is but it would be pointless since the denture wouldnt be stable unless they are one solid plate
this freaks me out cause I have one tooth that is bad to the gum line, jeez... im flossing and brushing like crazy from this point on
That is good news that you were able to get in to see the oral surgeon so quickly! I am so glad he is willing to work with you. It sounds like you are well on the way to reaching all your goals! Good for you!
Yeah Bryan.....probably you were a little stressed at the dentist and it was up....maybe that was all..hopefully!!
I am glad you willing be getting some relief soon!
my bp always goes up at the dentist
but its a good idea to check
are you getting all of them taken out? at once?
Sure am...they will take all of them out according to the dentist in about an hour.
ouch!
Good luck with all of it.
I hate when a Dr. or dentist or specialist talks down to you. I am glad you found a good one and wish you the best of luck with your oral surgery.
Good luck to yoou - i hope it all goes smoothly
It's good you found a dentist who didn't talk down to you, that makes a big difference in your outlook on getting the procedure done. I had to have all of mine removed a few years ago as well. Took about 4 visits to get them all out. It was a dental clinic with very understanding docs, made all of the difference in the world, still put my bp way up there though, lol!!
I'm glad you are getting it taken care of. Mouth pain is the worst. I hope everything goes smoothly getting the teeth out.
Thanks everyone!
Glad that everything is working out for you with your teeth. I have to say, I hate the dentist or anything having to do with my teeth. I had one tooth pulled a couple of months ago and can only imagine having more all of them pulled. and you should definately get that blood pressure checked out. I wouldn't want to see you get worse.
Good luck...no one is pulling my teeth...nope, nada...I try so hard to take care of them. It's bad enough I was born without eye teeth (yes, as a vampire, I'd starve...).
It's not going to be easy on you Bryan....and I hope you have a great blender. I have a friend that already had her teeth pulled...it'll be at least 6 mo. before they will do anything else, even make the permanent dentures.
OH Bry I so feel your pain!! I hope this all works out, I think we are in similiar situations with pain etc... I CAN NOT WAIT til the day I get them pulled and the temporary plate is inserted.... when I get the money... pain free vibes going your way...
That's great that you'll get the teeth/mouth pain take care of. I'm trying to keep my teeth even though they drive me nuts - I've spent so much money on them that I'm keeping the stupid things as long as possible.
